DUSTIN GAWRYLOW: SHOULD NORTH DAKOTA RACE TO IMPLEMENT THE OBAMACARE HEALTHCARE LAW?

To implement or not implement ObamaCare - that is the question facing every state in the nation.

Unfortunately, the State legislature is making it very difficult for you,Take Action the voters, to let them know what you think on this, or the other issues that will be coming up:

There will not be video or audio streaming of the floor debates due to the sporadic schedule of the session, said Jim Smith, director of Legislative Council. Monitors in the Capitol will provide updates, and the public can find information by going to legis.nd.gov and clicking on Special Session Quick Links.

The legislative telephone message service also won't be operational. Constituents will need to contact legislators through email or their personal phone numbers.

NDTA has suggested that instead of rushing to implement the so-call "healthcare insurance exchanges" dictated by ObamaCare,

Our friends at the
where you can quickly email state legislators on this issue.

While there is a good argument in favor of building and controlling the healthcare exchange, there is no good reason to think the Federal Government will reimburse North Dakota the $83 million that has been the reported cost.  (As we have told you in the past, even the states that received federal funding up-front having given those dollars back.)

NDTA suggests that the legislature:

1.  Place a version of the Healthcare Freedom Act (constitutional amendment) on the 2012 ballot.

and

2.  Pass legislation declaring intent to have the state control the Healthcare Exchange, but do not allocate any state dollars to set it up just yet.

If you agree with those two items, include them in your messages to legislators.

HotBox_PicAlso, this afternoon at 4 p.m. on KFYR Radio out of Bismarck, we will be talking about this very issue on the "What's on your mind?" Program.  Listen to that at AM 550, or online at KFYR.com.
