Last week we learned that Welsh girls, age 13 and up, will now be receiving free “morning after” pills.  The government of Great Britain is announcing that the young people of Wales are now free to go at it like little minks.  Good for Great Britain!  Just the way to solve a rampant nightmare.

This is supposed to be “enlightened” thinking. It seems more like a return to the caves.  Does anyone ever consider these children, these little girls?  Some, apparently not many, might have used this fear of unwanted pregnancy to avoid unwanted sex, or sexual activity they are too young to be seeking naturally.  It will put even more pressure on these children to engage in activity properly reserved for adult married couples.  It will also, indirectly, put some pressure on young boys to “prove themselves”. 

This is a sickness.  Unwanted pregnancy is a symptom of a serious social ill.  The greater problem is the illness itself, not the visible symptoms.  What is wrong is that these children are being deprived of a healthy childhood.  What are their parents doing, anyway?  This is what happens when the state takes over for the parents.  Where does the government think that further driving a wedge between parents and children will lead?  Parents should be held accountable for these kids.  With DNA testing available they can and should be held accountable for both partners. 

Depravity sanctioned by the state will not lead to a better nation, better health or a population equipped to sustain itself.  Providing these birth control pills is literally war on the Welsh people with their own consent and assistance.  It is neither kind nor well intentioned.  Whether government likes it or not, there is a role here for religious instruction and custom.  It might be better for all concerned to get back to chapel in Wales.

And, by the way, has the government got a plan in place to provide “morning after” pills for syphilis, AIDS and other STD’s?  Because this will be the next epidemic they must address.
