BILL LENGENFELDER: OF COURSE POEMEROY DOESN’T WANT TO DRILL
Earl Pomeroy stated in a recent letter that unlike Rick Berg, he would not drill for oil in our national parks. Earl doesn’t need to convince us that he is opposed to America drilling for its own oil. Earl votes the way that out of state environmental groups ask him to vote. He voted “no” on drilling in ANWR, in shallow water and just about everywhere else.
We are reminded that Earl opposes drilling when we pay inflated gasoline prices and when we get our MDU bills. We were reminded again as we watched BP trying to cap a blown out well in 5,000 feet of water.
Drilling would create hundreds of thousands of jobs at a time when our nation desperately needs them. We could stop buying oil from brutal third world dictators. We could have dollar a gallon gasoline and avoid disasters like the BP spill. Pomeroy voted “no” to all of that.
Earl wants to force America to rely on expensive and inefficient alternatives produced by the government like wind mills and ethanol rather than cheap and abundant oil recovered by private companies. America doesn’t have the money to subsidize these failed experiments, but the fact that our nation is bankrupt has never stopped Earl from voting to borrow massive amounts of money before. Maybe he will fund alternative energy by voting for more cuts to Medicare.
Earl could have included additional “news flashes” like how he voted for government run healthcare with cuts to Medicare that his opponent Berg would have voted against. Maybe include how he votes with Nancy Pelosi’s radical agenda 95% of the time and how his opponent Berg will not.
We get it; Earl doesn’t want America to drilling for oil. Next time Earl Pomeroy should tell us something that we don’t already know.
