CHUCK ROGÉR: KILLING AMERICAN MORALS THE MARXIST WAY

If you haven't read my American Thinker article on cultural Marxism in the education system, you can find it HERE. A quick outtake to provide context for the current discussion:

What reduced American education to its current state?

In part, the answer lies in cultural Marxism, a societal disease spawned by an Italian, Antonio Gramsci, in the 1920s. Gramsci preached that in order to free "oppressed" social groups, the oppressors' beliefs must be marginalized. Because Gramsci saw one particular group -- that is, traditional Christians -- as oppressive, he prescribed attacking tradition in general and Christianity specifically as the solution to oppression. Gramsci denounced moral certainty and elevated moral mushiness.

Historian John Fonte observed that while traditionalists want to revitalize "objective moral truths" in order to "remoralize society," cultural Marxists push "subordinate groups" to invent situational truths to "achieve political and cultural liberation." Traditionalists support personal accountability. Cultural Marxists heed Gramsci's command to politicize everything, a command followed religiously by feminists, for example. Traditionalists want to strengthen America, but cultural Marxists want "transformation."

After 40 years of conditioning of our schoolchildren by Gramsci's sinister cultural Marxism, one of the results we now live with is an ever rising illegitimate birthrate. Gramsci is reaching from his grave to topple middle class America.

Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector points out that in the latest data available (2008), nearly 41% of American babies were born out of wedlock. Rector calls our attention to a gotcha:

The overwhelming majority of the unwed mothers were young adults with low education levels, precisely the kind of individuals who have the greatest difficulty going it alone in our society.

And gotcha #2:

The press has rushed to report a minuscule drop in “teen births” based on data released Tuesday by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). As usual, the mainstream media are focusing on a trivial, politically correct story while ignoring the real story buried in the data.

Rector's points sharply illustrate the insidious nature of the mainstream media's politically correct coverage. In the 1950s, never would the tiny drop in teen births have been the focus of press coverage. The blaring headline would have been something like "Whoa! Really bad...Nearly Half of American Births Occurring out of Wedlock." But how times have changed. The media's focus on a tiny positive at the expense of the huge negative illustrates one of the ways American society is being collapsed from within. Not casting aspersions on immoral behavior blesses the behavior as acceptable.

Rector also observes something else that needs more focus.

America is rapidly becoming a two-caste society, with marriage and education at the dividing line. Children born to married couples with a college education are mostly in the top half of the population; children born to single mothers with high-school degrees or less are mostly in the bottom half.
...

Liberal journalists and pundits deliberately remain silent on the far larger issue of out-of-wedlock childbearing among adults because they believe the collapse of marriage is irrelevant, if not benign. From their perspective, concern about marriage is a mere red-state superstition; the important task is to increase government subsidies as we build a post-marriage society.

In order to bring down traditional America and install the utopian vision, progressives must pit the "have-nots" against the "haves." Since the 1960s, the left has been using the education system as a tool to execute the cultural takedown. Unless we clean the progressives out of education and government, the takedown will proceed to completion.

With The One in the White House for at least the next two years and nine months, the progressives have a decent shot at achieving the cultural transformation. After all, with takeovers of auto companies, financial institutions, unions, media, health care, and education, progressives and government now control well over half of the American economy. America is a decidedly conservative/moderate nation (76%). There's gonna be a showdown, soon.
