DENNIS PATRICK: A MOCKING IMMIGRATION FIX
Movement into the United States of enormous populations unimpeded across both northern and southern borders constitutes an invasion. Deliberate policies have shaped a bizarre and surreal dream world. One has to laugh to keep from crying. Read on.
Title 42 has expired with the approval of the Biden administration. Explained: “Title 42 expulsions are removals by the US government of persons who have recently been in a country where a communicable disease was present…. Title 42 of the United States Code includes numerous sections dealing with public health, social welfare, and civil rights….”
With the expiration of Title 42, and with no plan to otherwise address and account for the flood of illegal migrants poised to invade, the Biden administration gave a green light on Thursday, May 11, to any foreigner who wishes to reside in the US. Why bother going through a port of entry when you can just walk across the border?
Time to step up and act. But what can one person do? With a little American ingenuity and imagination the challenge can be met. The best way to help would be to facilitate transit of the illegals to a welcoming destination. That destination, of course, would be sanctuary cities and states. For those liberals who welcome illegal migrants, let these do-gooders take responsibility for their actions and put their money where their mouth is. Really!
What is a sanctuary city or state? Cities, counties, and states that do not permit resources to be applied to further the enforcement of federal immigration laws identify as sanctuary spaces.
Sanctuary states include California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Oregon, and Vermont. Sanctuary cities and counties nationwide total 167. A complete list may be found at https://apsanlaw.com/law-246.List-of-Sanctuary-cities.html.
Federal agencies already move migrants to places where they are neither wanted nor capable of being cared for. Biden’s administration has its defenders in transporting of illegal migrants. Under US law, the liberal American Immigration Council defends illegal migrants – if and when the law were enforced. They are the Biden administration’s new best friend defending illegals and pooh-poohing so-called “secret” flights. See https://immigrationimpact.com/2022/02/02/biden-secret-flights-of-migrants-debunked.
If the feds can relocate illegal migrants, why cannot the states experiencing the surge first hand do the same? Texas, Florida, and Arizona do move illegal migrants, with the consent of those migrants, to sanctuary locations. Citizens can help facilitate the onward movement of illegals by supporting their individual state relocation policies in the voting booth and vocally. Although not illegal for private citizens to give migrants a ride to a sanctuary location, let the states do it. They have the financial resources and legal protection.
Through his spokesperson, Florida Governor DeSantis declared, “[they] will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies.”
Arizona Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs said, "We’re sending migrants to cities they actually need to go to and be connected with their sponsors, and we are doing it in a more cost effective way by looking at all travel options, not just buses."
Whimsically, this puts the screws to those who support the Biden administration policies, namely the sanctuary devotees. In reality, either the illegals don’t work and local taxpayers support them, or they do work and take jobs from American citizens. Or else nobody works and the tax burden explodes on the American citizens.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott implemented a plan many months ago. He signed a declaration April 6, 2022 at the Texas Department of Public Safety. Texas provided illegals with charter buses to Washington, D.C., New York City, and other sanctuary locations. The move taunts President Biden and Congress over their failure to stop the flow of illegal migrants.
It’s a gutsy move. Texas, Arizona, and Florida can use all the moral support they can get. When the situation becomes widespread and grim enough then the President and Congress can certainly be replaced.
