Given our penchant for political correctness rot, we Americans have sugarcoated and whitewashed the threat of Islamic imperialism. Am I a racist for even broaching the subject? In the eyes of the DEI crowd, of course I am. After all, I was born Caucasian. In their view, what else matters?

But seriously. Our issue is not about race. It is about culture. It is about demographic decline and the unsustainability of the Western democratic system.

Consider the gradual conquering of the West by Islam through reverse assimilation, gutless multiculturalism, and the exploding Muslim baby boom. If 100 percent of the population believes in pluralistic democracy, what difference does it make if 50 percent are “white”, and 45 percent are “brown?” But it makes a huge difference if part of the population believes in pluralistic democracy and the other part does not. When the mullahs take over, my “conservatism” may remain, and I’ll keep my head down (and on). But it will be the feminists, gays, and transgenders who will suffer. For example, with a Muslim majority on any state supreme court, what are the chances of that court consenting to “gay marriage” or any behavior outside their belief system?

But I am getting ahead of myself. The real topic of interest is the demographic decline of the West via birthrates and immigration and thus the unsustainability of the Western democratic state both culturally and economically.

Take note. Between 1970 and 2000 the population in the West declined from about 30 percent of the world’s population to about 20 percent. Meanwhile, population growth in Muslim states rose from 15 percent to 20 percent. Concurrently, widespread apathy and denial in the West created fertile soil for Islamic expansion.

Regarding American assimilation of immigrants, a factor would be worth noting. For all intents and purposes, there was no immigration into the United States for over 40 years from 1924 to 1965. The 1924 Johnson-Reed Act vastly reduced immigration from countries outside the Western Hemisphere and banned immigrants from Asia. The law was strictly enforced. Ostensibly, that allowed time for earlier newcomers to assimilate culturally and contribute economically. Meanwhile, the United States was slowly evolving into a draining, over-regulated, freedom-stifling, and ultimately unsustainable welfare state.

Associated with Europe’s immigration is their tragically low birth rate tending toward cultural extinction. Islamicists, on the other hand, are procreating at a copious rate. Open borders aside, the United States continues to experience a slight net population increase annually although it hovers near breakeven numbers. By comparison, Spain, Italy, France, and others today are cultural corpses. They long ago traded their culture of family and community for listless nanny-state welfare. They forfeited the will to survive as evidenced by their inability to reproduce themselves. Very few Americans are aware that Mohammed is the 5th most popular name in the United Kingdom and the single most popular name in Belgium. Forty percent of Rotterdam is Muslim. Forty-five percent of those in urban areas in France are under twenty years of age and not economically productive. A continent of near exclusive Anglo-Christian influences for centuries has been replaced by the demographic influence of the Islamic religion.

To re-emphasize the demographics that the West faces, the Islamic community reproduces at a rate of 5-8 new births per household versus a 1-2 rate for Europeans and barely a 2 rate for Americans.

With Americans reproducing themselves at the rate of 2.1 children for each woman, we are less reliant on immigration to replenish our population than Europe, Canada, and Japan. Those countries have an average birth rate of 1.4 children per woman. But America has numerous entitlement programs dependent on the productivity of future generations. The principal source of emigrants to replenish the population in Western Europe is from Muslim countries. Muslims are reproducing themselves at an extremely high rate (fertility rates over 4.0), but they are not, in aggregate, productive members of the societies in which they settle. They are dependent on welfare and the other entitlements offered by the countries in which they settle. While Americans mortgage their grandchildren's futures by burdening them with debt to support liberal entitlements, Western Europeans are dependent on grandchildren of angry, resentful, unskilled Muslim immigrants. Good luck with that!

In his book “America Alone” Mark Steyn sees that America will soon be a lone force against Islamic imperialism. He concludes we have three options: submit to Islam, destroy Islam, or reform Islam. The first is unthinkable. The second is undoable. And the third is impractical without willing participation by Muslims. And that may be hard to come by.
