What follows is a recapitulation of a travesty credited to an anonymous source. Whoever you are, you deserve much credit for a fine piece of writing and the thought that went into it. Well done!

Less than a month ago, on March 24, 2015, Germanwings Flight 9525 operated by Lufthansa Airlines with 150 people on board, crashed into the French Alps. All 144 passengers and six crew members were instantly killed in the 434 mile per hour impact. For the men, women and children their death was violent and unthinkable.

This crash was not the result of mechanical failure or human error. This crash was deliberate and premeditated.

The co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, had every intent of crashing the aircraft in a mad suicide attempt. No matter that he would take 149 others with him. The only person that could save the aircraft was the pilot, but he was locked out. Lubitz had locked him outside the cockpit.

It is not difficult to imagine the passengers’ and crews’ sense of foreboding and apprehension. Envision the growing fear as the aircraft hurled toward earth. A sense of helplessness dawned on them followed by dread and then panic.

Herein lays the gist of the parody, the allegory, the extended metaphor.

Americans currently experience the same menacing premonition as did those on board Flight 9525. We are in trouble and feel helpless. We have a sense of foreboding because our nation is sinking. Our nation’s structure is under stress almost beyond its limits. America has lost its direction and we sense we are not on the right path. Above all, an overwhelming feeling of helplessness pervades the nation because Barack Hussein Obama has locked out America.

Obama locked out the American people when he took control of the US healthcare system. He locked out citizens when he chose not to enforce the immigration laws but instead opened our borders and gave billions in benefits to those who broke the law. He locked out American taxpayers when they wanted to know why the IRS was targeting conservatives.

Obama locked out his military leaders when they advised against early troop withdrawals from Iraq. He locked out his intelligence advisers when they issued warnings about the threat of ISIS. He locked out anyone who advised him against the exchange of deserter Bowe Bergdahl for five high-ranking Taliban leaders.

Obama continues to exclude as he locks out congress, our allies and the American people in pursuit of his deadly secret deal with Iran over their inevitable nuclear weapons attainment.

We will never know for sure why Andreas Lubitz committed his heinous act taking the lives of so many people. Was he insane? Depressed? Or just plain evil? Certainly he was listening to no other voices except those in his own head. Apparently he believed he was doing what was right in his own mind.

For effect, let the unknown writer conclude the parody in their own words.

“The voice recordings of the doomed aircraft reveal that as the jet began its rapid descent, the passengers were quiet. There was probably some nervous laughter, confusion, a bit of comforting chatter with seatmates, followed by a brief period in which anxiety had not yet metastasized into terror.

“It was only near the end of the eight minute plunge that everyone finally understood what was really happening. Only near the end when they began to scream.

“Like those passengers, a growing number of Americans feel a helpless dread as they come to the inescapable conclusion that our nation’s decline is an act of choice rather than of chance. The choice of one man who is in full control of our 8 year plunge.

“A man who has locked everyone out.”

Few could capsulize our predicament better than this unnamed author!
