DENNIS PATRICK: DISTRIBUTING ILLEGALS

Illegal aliens pour across the US southern border by the tens of thousands with zero effort by the Biden administration to stop the flow. In a weird sort of way, the administration’s plan seems to be to welcome the aliens and then distribute them inland. When questioned about the open border, Biden’s administration stays mum. Call Biden’s transparency opaque at best.

Since at least the summer of 2021 (maybe earlier) border officials sent over 70 flights of migrants from the southern border to Florida and New York without disclosing any notification or information to state or local officials. “Secrecy” marks the operation. Why?

“Over 70 air charter flights [on] jetliner airliners coming from the southwest border have landed at Jacksonville International Airport,” said Larry Keefe, Governor Ron DeSantis’s director of public safety. “On average, there's 36 passengers on each of these flights. And that has been going on over the course of the summer through September [2021].” Keefe, the former U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Florida, said the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services will not tell the state of Florida who is overseeing the flights, the names of those on the flights, or where the migrants are being taken. None of the agencies or the White House responded to multiple requests for comment.

"We don't know definitively or specifically as to why Jacksonville is the chosen place," Keefe said. "[We're] having to watch … — in effect, spy on the government to see what it is they're doing in the middle of the night..."

Switch scenes. In October 2021, the New York Post reported similar flights arriving in Westchester, New York, throughout the summer. Planeloads of migrants were observed being flown clandestinely into suburban New York by Biden’s administration. The charter flights originated in Texas and have been underway since at least August 2021.

The New York Post analysis of online flight-tracking data suggests that around 2,000 migrants arrived at the airport outside White Plains on 21 different flights since Aug. 8. Records show some of the planes touched down between midnight and 6:30 a.m. with two arriving from Houston at 2:13 a.m. and 4:29 a.m. on Aug. 20. On Friday night, October 15, one bus left the Westchester airport and traveled down the Hutchinson River Parkway which is off-limits to commercial vehicles. The clandestine nature of the operation raises questions about how the White House deals with the crisis of illegal aliens.

Commenting on the New York Post’s findings, Governor DeSantis asked, “If the Biden Administration is so confident that their open-border policy is good for our country, why the secrecy?” Spokeswoman Christina Pushaw asked, “Why is the Biden Administration refusing to share even the most basic information about illegal alien resettlement in communities throughout our state and the entire country?”.

In a related matter, County sheriffs demand federal officials tell them who is coming to their communities. During the week of February 14, 2022, law enforcement officials gathered for the National Sheriffs’ Association meeting in Washington, DC. They, too, noted that they have suffered from the Biden administration’s blackout on information. “You’re sending them to any county in this country; they need to notify the sheriff of that county who’s arriving,” said Sheriff Thomas Hodgson of Bristol County, Massachusetts. “We have a right to know that. If they’re shipping terrorists into our neighborhood, we have a right to know that. Drug dealers, smugglers — we have a right to know that,” he continued. “It would give us an opportunity to know who’s coming …” said Sheriff Troy Wellman of Moody County, South Dakota. “Transparency is one thing that’s lacking,” said Sam S. Page, sheriff in Rockingham County, North Carolina.... Why can’t we get the same respect and communications with our federal partners?” Cochise County, Arizona, Sheriff Mark Dannels said the administration is working against community safety with its efforts to transplant illegal immigrants across America, regardless of their criminal backgrounds.

The Biden administration has its defenders in transporting of illegal migrants. The liberal American Immigration Council defends illegal migrants in the face of US law – if the law were being enforced. They have become the Biden administration’s new best friend defending illegals and pooh-poohing so-called “secret” flights at https://immigrationimpact.com/2022/02/02/biden-secret-flights-of-migrants-debunked.

In view of the porous border crisis, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has a plan. Governor Abbott signed a declaration April 6 at the Texas Department of Public Safety. Texas will provide illegals charter busses to Washington, D.C. The move amounts to a taunt at President Joe Biden and Congress over a failure by the federal government to stop the flow of illegal aliens.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says the plan seeks to challenge in court the lack of federal law enforcement at the border. He hopes the matter reaches the US Supreme Court where the Court’s composition would favor the Texas case.

It’s a gutsy move. Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton are both running for re-election. Hopefully this is more than just a campaign stunt.
