DENNIS PATRICK: ELECTION 2024

Here comes the 2024 Presidential Election. Like it or not, candidates are already declaring, local party conventions will be meeting, and primaries will be electing.

The fight looms. Mao Zedong regarded “politics” as war without bloodshed. Marxists among us would just as soon see the bloodshed if they don’t get their way.

Beyond a doubt, and confirmed by experience, America’s Ruling Class (also known as the Davos Class) used control of the executive branch to hurt citizens in their private and public lives. People dared to reject rule by the Davos Class and instead elected Donald Trump. Retribution through the weaponization of Executive Branch departments and agencies was payback.

What follows does not suggest a call to action, but rather a call to vigilance. Be aware of the election reform agenda advocated by many Soros-funded left-of-center organizations. They work to accomplish the following.

-- Ignore the National Voter Registration Act requiring removal of ineligible voters from voter rolls.

  -- Back all-mail-In-ballot voting.

  -- Support “ballot harvesting.”

-- Promote automatic voter registration (such as automatically registering to vote when you register your car).

-- Endorse abolition of voter ID requirements.

-- Sanction abolition of voter residency requirements.

-- Approve abolition of the Electoral College.

  -- Favor same-day voter registration.

-- Recommend out-of-precinct voting (a variation on same-day voter registration).

As we approach the 2024 campaign, politicians automatically dust off and don their “I’m a Conservative” button pandering for the sucker vote. Every two years they play conservatives for pushovers. In the past twenty years, what have politicians proclaiming their “conservative” credentials accomplished for the good of conservatism – or, for that matter, for the good of the nation? In campaign mode, politicians spout the usual litany of “conservative solutions.” For the government that rules us, they campaign for decentralization, federalization, education reform, spending cuts, smaller government, balanced budgets, blah, blah, blah. But once in office, what have they accomplished to stem the tsunami of dysfunction, immorality, and corruption plaguing American government?

Would this assessment be so preposterous in view of our dying republic? Victor Davis Hanson did not think it preposterous when he published “The Dying Citizen” in 2021. He observes, “As 2021 began, the supporters of restoring the primacy of the American citizen were not so confident in their own powers of renovation as they were convinced that they had no other choice but to keep trying. The stakes were no less than the preservation of the American republic itself.”

Conservatives, obviously, have not succeeded in saving the republic. As part of the “democratic” show run by the internationalist Davos crowd, the conservative role has been to show up at the polls -- and lose. Donald Trump’s 2016 challengers, had any of them been elected, would have ensured more of the same. One saving grace manifests itself among the Republicans, however. They would never have dreamed up 52 genders, Islamophobia, Black Lives Matter, or elective bathrooms. They did, in fact, end sanctioning them.

But Trump did win in 2016 only to be met with vindictive persecution, resistance, and dissent from the Left, from the Right, and within his own Executive Branch. And who stood in the gap to defend him? Forget the conservatives. Certainly not the conservative Never-Trumpers. In the Left’s campaign of personal destruction using their Social Justice Storm Troopers screaming “Racist” along with their media enablers advancing their cause, conservatives were nowhere to be found. They ran away like scared mice. Forget Trump’s behavioral antics and look at his substantive accomplishments. Only Trump could have taken that shellacking and then muscled his way through the melee. And he is still standing ready and willing to do battle again for America.

In 2024 America may again see a Trump campaign. Will that bring “unity?” Don’t be silly. Of course not. American unity is so far removed from the land it cannot be seen with binoculars. But it will offer a good chance to bring about secure borders, economic nationalism, and an America-first foreign policy. If the 2020 elections were not stolen, then Americans foolishly chose to disunite the country through senseless immigration, economic, and foreign policies. Would a Trump administration be worth trying again? Well, it would certainly be better than any alternative.

As an aside, here is an imaginary matchup that probably will not happen. What if, just imagine if, Donald J. Trump sealed the Republican nomination in 2024 and chose Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as his running mate? Who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Pleasant dreams!
