A new term entered the Leftist lexicon of late. That term is “privilege” – “white privilege” to be exact.

The so-called Social Justice Warriors (SJW) define “privilege” as an advantage you were born with. It is something you possess, did not earn, do not deserve, and gives you an unfair advantage over others – specifically, minorities. You cannot control it. It is who you are – and you are wrong. Period.

These Leftists actually believe their own drivel. They’re not satisfied living in their own cuckoo world. They want to force others into their world as well. In fact, in their world there are more than two genders. (More about this in a moment.) Accordingly, generation after generation must be indoctrinated into their belief system.

The accusation of “privilege” leveled at anyone becomes a shaming technique and a weapon used by the Left to bludgeon opponents into submission. The SJW becomes a militant arm of the Left, a mechanism of force. Hypocritically for the Left, this malarkey ends up engaging in discrimination against someone else.

The accusation of “privilege” is meant to shut people up, to close down conversation, discussion, and debate. “Privilege,” so the argument goes, gives an “unfair advantage” over multitudes of victims including racial and sexual minorities and other protected classes. Racial and ethnic minorities you and I can understand. But, sexual minorities? Someone recently identified fifty-two separate genders. Really? Traditionally, most people can identify two genders. A few of the genders identified by the SJW crowd include cisgender, transgender, polygender, pangender, genderqueer, genderfluid, non-binary, demisexual, lithsexual, akoisexual, skoliosexual, autosexual, omnisexual, sapiosexual and more. (If these are not familiar to you, broaden your horizons and Google them.) Transgress any one of these “minorities” and you could face allegations of engaging in a “hate crime” rooted in “white privilege.” But I digress.

Think back a couple of years. Does the term “multiculturalism” ring a bell? Multiculturalism was not just an academic ideology. As a cultural manifestation, it was codified by law and regulation and imposed in schools and the workplace and reinforced through Hollywood and the media.

By no means has multiculturalism gone away. It simply morphed into the latest construct called – you guessed it – “privilege.” “White privilege” to be exact. Race used to be, and still is, a major theme of multiculturalism. Recently (Feb. 6, 2019), The Des Moines Register made no bones about it. Here is a quote from a piece written by Professor Loren Glass, University of Iowa. “White privilege, in other words, is the racist system in which we all live (and have lived since the beginning of this country’s history) … Only white people have this privilege of denial, and the series of defense mechanisms we have developed to maintain it are [called]…’white fragility’…”

Where does this stuff come from? Look no further than academia and the teaching of young people. This thinking exists mainstream in high schools and colleges. Check out Professor Timothy McGettigan’s textbook “A Formula for Eradicating White Supremacy.” He states, “…the US was founded as a white supremacist nation. Glance at any image of the Founding Fathers and the white supremacist roots of American democracy become evident…The vestiges of white supremacy still taint the pages of the US Constitution.” This book certainly was not researched using primary source material. Rather, it presents a hideous indoctrination promulgated by lies.

A charge of “privilege,” -- any kind of “privilege” whether aimed at race, wealth, gender, ethnicity, or any other – is an unanswerable and unfixable charge. It is akin to the often-played race card used for decades by progressives and Leftists against their opponents.

The truth is just the opposite. The truth is that our country is like no other country on earth. Privilege extends to everybody living here. America still represents a cauldron of unprecedented opportunity for all who have the gumption to pursue it. And many citizens and immigrants – legal and illegal – have done just that. The real privilege comes in this land of opportunity when citizens have the freedom to excel beyond their wildest dreams.

Seeing through the fog of pessimism and negativism is not easy. But millions of people in this great land of opportunity do – and succeed. There are far more people who succeed, and thereby make America succeed, than there are those on the Left who would take America down. The real privilege is to live in a country of freedom and overcome the anti-American hate.

America! What a great country!
