DENNIS PATRICK: QUIPS AND POLITICIAN QUACKERY

Art Linkletter once remarked, “Kids say the darndest things.” So do adults, especially if they are politicians. Try a sampling.

“One of my core principles is that I will never engage in a politics in which I’m trying to divide people….That’s a core principle – that’s not something I’d violate.” This is Barack Hussein Obama quoted at The Daily Caller on June 1, 2015. Surely he jests. How about his divisive comments on rich and poor, black and white, employed and unemployed?

“My entire Presidency is about helping working families recover from recession and rebuild for the future.” So said Barack in his Saturday weekly address given on April 25, 2015. Award the president an “F” for “falsehood.” The total number of people in the U.S. who are eligible but cannot find work exceeds 93 million as of October 2015 – all as a result of his policies. Seven years and he is still spinning the story.

“I remind people that, you know, there actually is probably less war and less violence around the world today than there might have been 30, 40 years ago.” These are President Obama’s words uttered in an interview with Chris Matthews as reported in the Washington Free Beacon April 21, 2015. Well, he can’t let that happen. So, he fixes it by letting Iran acquire nuclear weapons.

On May 13, 2015 President Obama met with Saudi leaders in the Oval Office. Here is the White House transcript of the President’s greeting as reported in the Washington Examiner on May 14, 2015. “It’s wonderful to welcome back the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Nayef, as well as Deputy Crown Prince Salman…[T]he United States and Saudi Arabia have an extraordinary friendship and relationship that dates back to Franklin Roosevelt and King Faisal.” Our illustrious leader screwed up that one. The crown prince’s name is Mohammed bin Salman; his father’s name is Salman (“bin” meaning “son of”); the king who met with FDR was Abdul Aziz ibn Saud, whose son was Faisal. Is it any wonder why the US has lost the respect of a major Middle East ally when our president is so detached and unprepared to meet foreign dignitaries and is unaware of our shared history?

“People don’t remember, but when I came into office the United States in world opinion ranked [low],…and today once again, the United States is the most respected country on earth.” Barack Obama quoted at Breitbart June 1, 2015. Why? It is not because of screwing up the names of foreign dignitaries in the Oval Office or bowing to every dictator. In any case, his claim is just not true.

“If we want to make things better for mothers and their families, we’ve go to keep the White House and…take back Congress. So, if you are in to stand with moms all over the country, and the people who will fight for them and their kids, then add your name and commit to electing Democrats in 2016 who will do just that.” This is what Debbie Wasserman Schultz advocated in a recent Democrat fundraising e-mail. Oh, yes. Another Democrat leader pushing for a world without dads.

“We have to stop the endless flow of secret, unaccountable money that is distorting our elections, corrupting our political process, and drowning out the voices of our people.” This was Hillary Clinton at her campaign re-launch quoted by Time.com on June 13, 2015. I’m sure she was not talking about her Clinton Foundation which, by the end of 2014, had raised nearly $2 billion. The Clinton family net worth is about $100 million. This is not bad for a family who claims to have been broke when Bill Clinton left office January 20, 2009. And, no one can guarantee that the $2 billion charity foundation money won’t find its way into Hillary’s campaign.

“I will be the youngest woman President in the history of the United States.” This was spoken by 67-year-old Hillary Clinton on Roosevelt Island in New York’s East River on June 13, 2015 in her first major speech of her 2016 presidential bid as reported by the Associated Press. Was this a lame attempt at humor?

Just think, Hillary could be our next president unless America wakes up.
