DENNIS PATRICK: RUSSIA COLLUSION HOAX COLLAPSES
When tempted to view news reports at face value, always remember, “Things are not as they appear.” Over time, the real story behind the story comes out as truth. But, by then people are so sick and tired of the whole mess they no longer pay attention. The truth falls on deaf ears.
An excellent example appears as the Russia collusion hoax. In retrospect, the “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax turned out to be one of the biggest, most outrageous political scandals. It was a phony, useless, two-year investigation costing taxpayers in excess of $35 million. The popular media never dug into the story but could have if they weren’t blinded by their hatred for President Trump.
Yet, in spite of the scam, no one has yet been held accountable. People’s lives have been ruined by the perpetrators of the “get Trump” fraud. No culprit sits in jail next to Harvey Weinstein.
Journalist John Solomon tracked the loose ends of the hoax suspecting that, indeed, there was more to the story than met the eye. Bits and pieces of the story as presented to the public through the media just didn’t add up. Solomon knows his way around the news business. He has worked for The Hill, contributed to Fox News, and served as editor-in-chief of The Washington Times. He has recently created a new on-line news journal called Just the News.
Solomon was able to establish through piecemeal release of FBI files that the Mueller investigation masked the fact that James Comey and his FBI buddies knew all along that the Trump campaign had never conspired with the Russians regarding the 2016 elections. That means the presidency and the nation was put through a two-year ordeal that had mostly been resolved in January 2017.
By January 2017 FBI files show that US officials:
“**received multiple warnings about the credibility of informant Christopher Steele and his dossier;
“**affirmed key targets of the FBI counterintelligence investigation made exculpatory statements denying collusion to undercover sources;
“**concluded retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, was not engaged in collusion with the Russians.”
Mueller knew immediately upon the disclosure of the Trump Tower meeting that there was no collusion. Mueller became the face of the deep state coup. The Democrats backing Mueller were hoping he could be used as a figurehead to create crimes against Trump. They tried to frighten Trump, but he could not be rolled. Even worse, there was clear evidence that there was no Russian collusion – and Mueller ignored that evidence while falsely accusing people of process crimes and sending them to jail!
Faith was placed in Michael E. Horowitz, the FBI’s Inspector General. That justice would prevail could have been too much to ask. Horowitz is too close to his FBI compatriots to rat them out. Although he is supposed to be neutral, his investigation produced no corrective action. Why would he, too, not be part of the swamp?
The wheels of justice turn slow – when they turn at all. As an aside, US District Court Judge Royce Lamberth issued an order based on a Freedom of Information Act law suit filed by Judicial Watch six years ago. The order requires Hillary Clinton to be deposed under oath about her personal email server used for official classified State Department business, her missing thirty-three thousand emails, the BleachBit erasing of her computer hard drives, and the smashing on two occasions of her cell phones. The FBI never questioned her under oath. If Hillary had been elected president instead of Donald Trump, these issues would have been dead and buried.
Everyone now awaits with bated breath the outcome of John H. Durham’s investigation. Attorney General William Barr appointed Durham to investigate the origins of the Russia investigation. Justice may yet prevail. Durham serves as the Federal prosecutor for the Connecticut District. His investigation is ongoing, has grown in scope, and he has empaneled a grand jury, something Horowitz could not do.
Durham is particularly focused on FBI and CIA counterintelligence activities relative to the Trump campaign. In October 2019 Durham expanded his probe exponentially adding more agents and resources based on what he was finding. It is now global in scope. On March 7, 2020 former British spy Christopher Steele (MI6) of Steele Dossier fame refused to cooperate with Durham’s investigation.
Today we live with a sick and broken justice system -- one more thing for Trump fix in making America great again.
