DENNIS PATRICK: SCHWEIZER’S INVISIBLE COUP

My last two columns addressed different aspects of illegal immigration. But why stop there? Consider a third view probing the world of illegals.

How many times have we heard politicians whine, “The immigration system is broken.” And the fix is…? And the fix is…? Wait for it! … (silence)…

When conversation turns to immigrants and immigration the discussion usually focuses on what to do with these people now that they are here. But wait. Step back and ask, “Who is facilitating these migrants and why?”

Peter Schweizer’s new book “The Invisible Coup” opens a wide panorama on America’s problem with illegals and what to do about it. In his thesis, Schweizer argues that US immigration policy has been turned against American citizens by American elites, non-government organizations (NGOs), foreign governments, and criminal networks for personal and political gain. Over time, these entities intentionally devised the immigration flow to alter US political outcomes for their own personal and political gain. He frames the argument as an “invisible coup” -- a slow, systemic subversion rather than a single dramatic event. As you will see if you read the book, if you dismiss his argument as mere conspiracy theory, then you do so at your own risk. “Houston, we have a problem.”

Consider two of Schweizer’s many examples, the first was forty-five years ago and the other more contemporaneous.

In the spring of 1980, Cuba’s Communist dictator Fidel Castro planned the export of roughly one hundred and twenty-five thousand Cubans from Cuba. President Jimmy Carter naively assured them of “an open heart and open arms.” This was not a chaotic exodus. Castro chose whom he would send. Legitimate refugees served as camouflage for the calculated transfer of violent criminals, psychopaths, intelligence agents, and drug dealers. This was the beauty of migration as a weapon. This invasion has been used as a model ever since. Schweizer calls it a “Proof of Concept.”

More recently, birth tourism has been used in unrestricted warfare by China to foster a silent coup within America. Schweizer provides proven details showing how Chinese women visit the US on subsidized tourist visas to give birth to a child. Mother and child then return to Communist China where the child is raised and duly indoctrinated. When the child turns eighteen, and is now an adult, that person returns to the US as a voting citizen with the rights of citizenship.

This timely book documents the roles and agendas of leftist Latin American governments, Islamists, Chinese Communists, radical domestic activists, NGOs, and the Democratic Party who enabled the entry into America of tens of millions of people from all over the world during this past 20 years. While each group has its own reasons for exploiting the US migration system, there is one common thread which unites them. That thread expands US destabilization and annuls the foundation and demographics of American society replacing them with policies, rules, and standards that advance their agendas. That is how immigration is used as a weapon.

Schweizer’s conclusions? Sovereignty means sovereignty. The preamble of the Constitution reminds us that we have a fundamental right to keep our sovereign union. The US and its leaders should act accordingly. Consider this a working template to “fix” the immigration system.

-- 1. Ban the practice of dual citizenship in the US. President Trump has challenged birthright citizenship as earlier interpreted by the Constitution’s 14th amendment. That challenge is now before the US Supreme Court. Terminating dual citizenship as now practiced would require immigrants to renounce all earlier oaths of allegiance to other countries. If necessary, amend the US Constitution.

-- 2. Subject all immigrants and refugees to a rigorous vetting process and ideological scrutiny. No exceptions.

-- 3. Ban political contributions from noncitizens.

-- 4. Ban birth tourism and surrogacy as a means of getting US citizenship.

-- 5. Expel foreign diplomats and close foreign consulates that engage in US political activities.

-- 6. Enforce laws restricting foreign nationals and foreign political organizations from taking part in American politics.

-- 7. Review and scrutinize student visas vigorously. Foreign students should be held accountable for radical foreign political affiliation and for what they are studying – particularly training that has military application.

-- 8. Apply greater congressional oversight of the US citizenship process. Guarantee that presidents do not ignore rules on criminal background checks, language requirements, and overall immigrant competency.

Schweizer’s book draws on interviews, public records, and historical documents to build his argument. He cites his references in 870 footnotes throughout his 204-page book to make his case. I am glad I bought “The Invisible Coup”. It is well worth reading.

And the politicians who promise to “fix” the broken immigration system? They would be wise to use Schweizer’s recommendations as the start of an honest conversation.
