This past week Americans witnessed the most unprecedented power grab of all President Obama’s power grabs – the unilateral granting of amnesty to five million aliens illegally in the United States. Meanwhile, our border with Mexico remains unsecured. Obama refuses to enforce current immigration laws and his administration attacks states who try to confront illegal aliens.

 
Why should Americans be surprised? Obama has stretched the envelope for the past six years with the aim of changing the fundamental nature of the United States. He explicitly resents our very foundation because he wrongly believes America was founded unjustly. He and his acolytes are determined to “get even.”

It is good to remember and not to forget. What follows is only a partial list illustrating just how lawless this president, his administration and a complicit congress have been. Through litigation and discovery Judicial Watch, a non-partisan educational foundation seeking transparency and accountability in government and politics, tracked this lawless behavior.

 
The biggest power grab, of course, is Obamacare. Presented to Americans by Obama with subterfuge, lies and deception Democrats in the Senate voted unanimously to force unpopular health care legislation on the American people intending to control one-sixth of the US economy.

The IRS targeting of conservative groups who were seeking tax-exempt status has never been resolved. No one has been held accountable in either the IRS or in the White House for the targeting of the conservative groups.

The Benghazi scandal drags on. The Obama White House denies a terrorist connection to the murder of four Americans including the ambassador and ignores the question of why security was not increased prior to the 9/11 attack. Obama’s State Department has yet to explain why they blocked support by US forces during the attack.

Not to be overlooked is the threat to the Second Amendment right to bear arms.  Obama engaged in closed-door discussions with anti-gun activists to devise policies that would inhibit gun ownership. He took 23 executive actions to curtail Second Amendment rights including suggesting that doctors ask patients about gun ownership and pressuring businesses to back the administration’s gun agenda.

This goes hand-in-glove with the Fast and Furious gunrunning scheme. Obama has exerted “executive privilege” to protect Attorney General Eric Holder from prosecution in his denying congressional request for documents pertaining to Fast and Furious. Meanwhile, 300 Mexicans and one US border agent are dead and Obama blocks the investigation.

Then there are the “green energy” scams. Obama’s Department of Energy provided $16 billion dollars of taxpayer money to fund “green energy” companies that are either run or owned by Obama’s financial backers. It is Obama’s reward to them for their support. Solyndra, Fisker Automotive, Enerl, Abound Solar and Beacon Power come to mind. They either failed or are failing.

Obama continues to sidestep the advice and consent of the Senate by appointing unaccountable czars (45 and counting) to formulate and execute policy beyond the reach of the Freedom of Information Act requests thus refuting transparency.

Secrecy is the hallmark of the purportedly most transparent administration in American history. Among other things, Obama’s administration withholds records pertaining to Obamacare, the criminal ACORN enterprise, tracking of Wall Street bailout money, the use of Czars and interference with the integrity of the nation’s system of elections to name a few.
 

Unilaterally, Obama has:

-- Increased the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP);

-- Told the FDA to ration prescription drugs to preclude a mythical shortage;

-- Directed the EPA to implement higher auto fuel efficiency (CAFÉ) standards;

-- Abused recess appointments to fill three vacancies to the National Labor Relations Board (NRLB) and later struck down by US Supreme Court; -- Used the NRLB to threaten the Boeing Company, a private enterprise, to not

move an assembly line to a non-union site in South Carolina;

-- Funded inefficient solar and wind energy projects in western states;

As the president, Obama continues to display his true roots. He is a community organizer at heart and no different than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. He came to office with no private sector experience beyond academia and with only 142 days federal experience as Senator. As emperor he sees America as his community to organize.
