DENNIS PATRICK: WILL ANYONE BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE RUSSIAN HOAX?
For two-and-a-half years the Deep State has done its best to disqualify President Trump. Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent $35 million looking for Russian collusion in the 2016 Trump campaign. Congress has been thoroughly occupied with trying to “nail” the president for obstruction of justice. All have failed miserably. There is nary a peep from the mainstream media – until the facts become so glaringly obvious even to a blind man.
I have been extremely wary of the mainstream media’s news coverage for many years. It is not so much their twisting a story out of context (which they often do) as much as omitting coverage of newsworthy stories entirely. In their alignment with liberals in general and Democrats in particular to sink the Trump administration the mainstream media has forsaken its role as “truth tellers.” In the spirit of good old competition reliable sources have stepped in to fill the void.
Robert Mueller’s recent testimony before congress and the questions he either could not or would not answer brilliantly highlight the media’s failure to report the news honestly. Nevertheless, the information has always been available through alternative news sources should a person be willing to seek it out.
What follows are a few citations of stories seldom or never covered by the mainstream media. The wrongdoing extends back into the Obama Administration and the department holdovers serving as an adjunct to the Hillary campaign.
As the Investor’s Business Daily (IBD) states, “[T]he Deep State holdovers from the Obama Administration were serving as an adjunct to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Early on in the investigation, CIA chief John Brennan convened multi-agency meetings about Trump. They included Peter Strzok…and James Clapper…among others. The premise of the meetings…was that Trump possibly colluded with the Russians to hack our election and might even be an agent of Russia. Yet, as The [New York] Times itself admitted, virtually ‘no evidence’ existed for such a charge. Such actions are illegal, an attempt by supposedly nonpartisan government employees to subvert the 2016 Presidential election…And yet the perpetrators still walk free.” 1/15/19
The IBD earlier reported, “[T]he Deep State triad of Obama, Clinton, and [Obama CIA Director] Brennan colluded…to damage Trump’s campaign with allegations of Russian interference in the election. And they got the FBI and, later, a special prosecutor, to conduct a high-profile investigation. Such collusion, if only in the political sphere, wouldn’t be a crime. However, using federal assets and personnel and misrepresenting what you’re doing to a FISA court to influence an election are crimes. Felonies, in fact.” 7/23/18. This was never investigated by Mueller.
Christopher Steele and his famous dossier was early evidence of collusion. “British court filings reveal that FBI contact Steele himself was leaking the dossier to Yahoo News and would later claim he’d done so as an insurance policy to thwart an unlikely Trump Presidency or to provide grounds to question ‘the legal validity of the outcome’ in the unlikely event that he won.” So reported Victor Davis Hanson in National Review, 3/12/19
Shortly after, Sean Davis of The Federalist, nailed the collusion cabal. “[T]he Steele dossier was an orchestrated media operation from the beginning…everything done by Clapper and Comey was done to provide media an excuse to publish defamatory claims to damage Trump.” 3/15/19
The Obama Administration has been involved from the beginning. “If it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably, special counsel Mueller’s investigation. President Obama is responsible for that.” James Clapper, Obama’s National Intelligence Director on CNN 7/18/18
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s investigation is over but the Justice Department’s inquiry of wrong doing by high-level officials is not. Let’s see how the mainstream media handles the DOJ Inspector General’s report due out this September. If the report recommends prosecution of any high-level perpetrator (and it surely may), will the mainstream media redeem itself with unbiased, in-depth coverage? Or, will they continue down the path of partiality?
