EDWARD MORRIS:  NO, YOU DON’T HAVE ANY LIBERAL FRIENDS

Until recently I was one of those tolerant conservatives who admitted to having "a couple of friends who are liberal." Boy was I a dummy. The evidence is now too overwhelming to believe anything but this: That so-called '"liberals" are not only the most illiberal people on Earth (we already knew that), not only are they idiots (we knew that, too) but they are incorrigeably dishonest. If you stand next to a liberal at a bus-stop and it's raining, he'll tell you the sun is shining and the sidewalk is bone-dry. If you come out of a theater (supposing you could even do that anymore) and the movie starred Amy Adams, she'll tell you it was Scarlett Johansson. If you default on your mortgage and are now sleeping on a park bench, the flaming hot turd will drive past you in the car that used to be yours that he bought at a fire sale, splash a mud puddle on you and call you a greedy capitalist pig with no care for others. The present-day liberal has no shame and no concern with reality.

He gets his "information" from CNN. "Fact-checks" from Facebook friends safe-guard him against the dangers of any real news, which suits him fine. I said he has no concern with reality. I did not say he has a faulty perception of reality. Here is the difference: A person may walk around all his life thinking there's a "God" of some sort, or he may not, and it could turn out that one perception or the other was wrong. The ancients, if you go back far enough, imagined the earth to be flat. Many grown adults today believe the majority of people a thousand years ago believed the earth was flat. The error of the former group is more forgivable than that of the latter, but that is beside the point, which is that in these instances, though both groups have failed to grasp reality as it is, they have not necessarily failed to grasp that reality is. The old-fashioned liberal may have imagined, falsely, that wealth is finite, but he at least recognized that there was such a thing as "wealth" even if he failed to understand its nature. His contemporary offspring are something worse. They don't believe reality is real, much less wealth, or death, or walruses or the Starbucks paper cup in their hand or the Chinese slave labor that shucked the coffee beans whose by-product they don't believe they're really slurping, or the Lana Del Ray crapola guilt-tripping them, through speakers they don't believe really exist, out of being guys, which is fine with them because gender is nothing but a human construct, which is only a thing as long as it's expedient to be. They don't believe anything is real. They don't believe their own lyin' eyes.

I was a child once, as embarrassing a fact as that is to admit, and as I imagine most, if not all, children do, I occupied countless hours of those years engaged in what we grown-ups call "make-believe." Growing up with two sisters and no brothers, this make-believe frequently involved dolls. Of course, as we matured, our games reflected more and more of reality as it might really be, including kidnappings, murder and sleaze in general, but as very small children the babbling non-sense of our make-believe characters - detectives and bad guys and shadowy spooks and a bandalero-clad Mexican revolutionary for some reason named Howard - was as real to us as our parents' heat-and-light bill or their latest fight with City Hall.

This is the mindset of your "liberal friend on Facebook" who tells you "There was no election fraud", "They didn't shred those ballots in Georgia", "The Antifa protests were mostly peaceful", "They found nothing on Hunter Biden's lap-top", "What are you afraid of? That the rest of us don't accept that Trump is God's messenger on Earth?" and so on and so grindingly on. Your liberal friend hates you only slightly less than he hates reality. Or, more precisely, he simply has contempt for both. Get that? You are not real to him. He has grown up playing video games and watching Marvel movies. Nothing is real to him. An adult who has the bumptiousness to accuse you of idolizing Donald Trump and the asininity to ignore gravely serious threats to your and his liberty and way of life is a person who doesn't believe in reality. This is consistent with his idea that men can be women and vice versa, or the infernal shell game he makes of the English language. Right now half the country is joking about "Hilaria" Baldwin. But her act of self-deception is no different in kind than that of your "liberal friend" who asserts that there was no election fraud or that lockdowns and mask mandates save lives or othersuch poppycock; than that of your "liberal friend" who "trusts the doctors" - as long as they're doctors who are taking a government paycheck. As soon as those doctors are independent skeptics they're part of some lunatic fringe whose motive can be sketched in later, which is to say he may not agree with you but he'll defend to your death his right to not do his own thinking.

I am older than I am willing to admit to (which is not an instance of deception but ... eh? kinda hiding out a little bit?) and in all the years I've had to ruminate, cogitate, I'm still baffled as to why people would choose to confuse a kick in the nuts from a sweaty jock in a squeaky-floored gym with a kiss from Betty Lou in your daddy's Buick, but this is what the Left does every day! It's what makes them such a formidable enemy. When you're hand-cuffed to a buck-board drawn by lemmings, how the hell do you get out of this situation?

Here's how you don't do it, and I'm telling you this to save you, me and maybe the Universe some nickels: You don't reason with them. If they're the smart ones and you're the gum-ball, the Big Guy'll referee that call and that's that. Meanwhile, please, my imaginary readership: Your "liberal friends" have made up their minds, just like the Supreme Court did. They have no compassion, no empathy, no what-ever-you-want-to-call it. No humanity. If you tell your "liberal friend" about the latest suicide brought about by these inhumane and evil lockdowns (or quarantines) he will rationalize it. He will, albeit unwittingly, appropriate for himself the role of arbiter of who lives and who dies. The cancer patient? Back of the line, bitch. We've got a pandemic going on! Pregnant mother dies? Gee, too bad. The life of one mother and her unborn child don't amount to a hill of beans because there's a pandemic going on! Again, this ties to the "liberal"'s detachment from reality. I witnessed a manager at a former place of employ apple-polishing for her imaginary god by saying scoldingly to an employee: "There's a pandemic going on!" I forget the details (which should be the name of my autobiography) but I politely challenged her on this claim and, it seems to my recollection, she had nothin'.

Stop treating these people as your friends, your 'brethren', your fellow-men. They are vampires. What do vampires do? Two things: One, they suck the blood out of humans; Two, they convert survivors to their own kind. If you accept that liberals are vampires (which is probably a good idea, but if you don't, well ... eh-heh ...) shut them out of your life. To the extent possible. If you find out your friend is a "liberal" - other him like there's no tomorrow! Rome wasn't built in a day and America wasn't destroyed by politicians. It was destroyed by your "liberal friend". Yeah, that slug with a sock over his face in front of you at Menard's. He did it to you. Not Pelosi, not Biden, not Fauci. That crumbum in front of you suffocating his lungs and yours for his religion - not yours.

That guy - your "liberal friend" - is your most lethal enemy. Or that Karen (apologies to actual Karens out there who might be lovely people). She's the one who freaks out when you ain't wearin' you mask. Or the little naziboy at the grocery store he only doin' he job! Just like actual Nazis, your "liberal friend" has no regard for your life, or for the sovereignty of the individual in general. His eye is perpetually on some "greater good" which can never be pinned down, partly because language is, and therefore concepts are, to him as clouds in the sky, or sand dunes. Ever-changing and things of the moment - not absolutes, not definite.

Don't be a dummy. Your "liberal friend" will sell your paycheck and the air you breathe from now till Kingdom Come to China or the next Genghis Khan to come along from the comfort of a rocking chair (or a deck chair or an office chair) and your suffering will be no more real to him than the suffering of the ant you dropped into the spider's web when you were eleven. Your "liberal friend" might even enjoy it as much.

How do you get revenge? They've won. The bad guys won. I would suggest you ditch that Thomas Paine crap you were reading, or that John Locke or whatever. Your pocket Constitution. Forget all that crap. Article I, Section II, paragraph whetever. That doesn't matter now. Look, you're running through the woods and a California blackbear thinks your ass is a ham sandwich. That's where you are now. This isn't the time to consult the wisdom of the guys the blackbear ate for lunch yesterday. Not unless you want an inside look at his digestive tract. This is when you go porcupine. How do you make his next meal the last meal he'll ever want to eat? Is there a way you can leave him dry-heaving by a riverbank like a repentant three-time loser on Thanksgiving's Day whose only prayer is for death yesterday?

That's the mindset you need to get into. And I would propose this: As much as possible, shut him out of your life. Think of him like a narcissist. What's the battery they run on? You! So stop being their battery. Don't be nice and share cat videos and say "Not all life is about politics." It sure as hell is when Keith Ellison says in public that he thinks you should work in a slave labor camp for daring to keep a roof over your head. It sure as hell is all about politics when your choice is slowly suffocating or starving a little more quickly.

The republic is dead. America's on a slab with a toe-tag. You can either play make-believe with those jerks or you can go after America's killers. Fauci didn't take away your livelihood. Whatever scum-sucking governor you're stuck with didn't. They didn't do the dirty. Not without help. No. It was "little people" who did this to you. That clip-board-wielder who told your boss he wasn't "in compliance" did it to you. Your boss did it to you. But vee vuss only following orduss! So get practical. If mayflies have the power to take you down, be a mayfly and take them down. Jam the system. Sabotage them. That human aardvark, Green Day, pumped out a song called "Know Your Enemy". I hope Billy Joe, Tre and the third guy are worrying right now where their next tubes of spike gel are going to come from but that's neither here nor there. They may be hypocritical moochers, but their point should be well-taken.

Know your enemy. It's your "liberal friend" who smugly denies what you both know is true and who has temerity to brand you as the looney toon. Have no more of it! Shut the lights down on his act. Don't go to any more movies. Don't talk about sports. Don't engage in conversation with liberals. They can't be persuaded by reason and truth because they have pledged themselves to absurdity and lies. Devil take them. I'm not a bible guy but I think David finally took out Goliath by stealing Goliath's slingshot. So angle for Goliath's back-pocket, grab that slingshot and pop a cap in his ass. Yeah, you and me both are gonna walk a lonely road from here on out but that napsack on your back is going to be a lot lighter without "liberal friends" because you have none.
