Support the US Postal Service:
I recently received a questionnaire from a medical doctor, asking my views and trying to generate support for the Presidents Health Care proposals.
I read the questionnaire with some interest, then looked at the source of the letter and the return envelope provided for my reply.
The addresses on both were:
Service Employees International Union
1800 Massachusetts Ave. NW
Washington DC 20077-5740
I assumed this is the SEIU folks we are hearing so much about in the news.
At any rate, I recalled the President’s comments on the US Postal Service, citing it as an example of government efficiency, and management. This in spite of the fact they are losing money and raising postal rates on a regular basis.
I decided to help the postal service, by returning the postage paid envelope to the sender. It is my understanding, that there are different rates, depending on the volume, sponsoring group etc, still it will cost SEIU something to get it.
Suddenly I felt very good, knowing it was probably taxpayer money that the SEIU was using to fund the effort, and that I could at least play a small part in re-cycling treasury funds. Green you know!
Next I did a Google search on SEIU, very interesting. I found there is even a SEIU address in Grand Forks, North Dakota, wonder what those folks do?
So If you get a letter with a return envelope addressed to SEIU, return it!! Help the US Postal Service, recycle your tax dollars. Stuffing the envelope with weighty material so that it arrives with postage due may even help them more..The questionnaire? I threw it.
