LYNN BERGMAN: A “UNIVERSAL BODY OF BELIEVERS”
A book review by Lynn Bergman
“Pagan Threat” by Lucas Miles
Pastor Lucas Miles, an ordained minister since 2004, is the lead pastor of Nfluence Church in Granger, Indiana, the President of The Nfluence Network, and the Senior Director of TPUSA Faith, installed by the late Charlie Kirk prior to his assassination.
Pastor Miles,’ book, in its final Chapter Nine “The Church of Tomorrow” examines, line by line, the Apostles’ Creed. Miles explains, in detail, the reasoning behind each line of the Apostles’ Creed and offers comparisons with the Pagan world’s immorality that existed prior to Christianity and today’s menacing return of Pagan demons (with perhaps new descriptors).
In the Pagan world, individual human life was of no importance. Therefore infanticide, human sacrifice, kidnappings, tribal enslavement, and more… were tolerated as just a part of life.
Apostles’ Creed
The Apostles’ Creed, developed as early as the second century, offers a foundational summary of biblical truth that anchors believers to the essentials of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was developed early in the history of Christianity (~2nd century) toward uniting Christians of all denominations in our primary doctrine and mission. The Apostles’ Creed, recognizable to 2.3 billion people identifying globally as Christians (along with 150,000 to 1.5 million Messianic Jews), is presented at the end of this article. Many of you know it by heart.
“He descended to the dead.”
This line, regardless of its specific era-related terminology (the dead, Hell, or the Hebrew term “Sheol”) emphasizes Christ’s solidarity with the dead, signifying His complete participation in the human experience of suffering and death.
“The holy catholic Church”
This line underscores the universal and unified nature of the church, rejecting division and fragmentation. In the context of the Apostles’ Creed, the phrase “the holy catholic Church” refers to the universal body of believers, not to any specific denomination or to the Roman Catholic Church headquartered at the Vatican. This line affirms that the church, while diverse in expression, is united in primary doctrine and mission. Of all the lines of the Apostles’ Creed, this may be the most divisive, as too many readers see it as elevating their denomination to the exclusion of all others. When Jesus walked the earth, such legalistic, prideful, hypocritical people were called Pharisees who prioritized ritual over mercy. Jesus criticized them for elevating oral traditions above God’s commands and failing in “justice, mercy, and faithfulness.” Some Pharisees though, such as Nicodemus and Paul, were exceptions favorable to and accepting the teachings of Jesus.
Pastor Miles emphasizes the importance of all Christians from all denominations uniting to form a universal effort to confront the godless uprising facing America and Christians throughout the world today.
Where is this godless threat arising from?
The encroachment of Woke ideology and its seemingly innocuous rise of social justice and inclusivity movements, identity politics, intersectionality, gender identity, Critical Race Theory, earth worship, cancel culture (shaming, deplatforming, and societal exclusion) initially appeared as benign cultural trends. However, they have laid the groundwork for a full-blown revival of ancient Pagan beliefs… occult practices and ideologies that are, at their core, anti-Christian.
Who are the threats coming from?
Aligning together in this effort are Marxists, radical environmentalists, technocratic “scientists,” LGBTQ+ activists, racial justice “warriors,” eugenicists (i.e. the Holocaust, black and white lynchings, disproportionate race-based infanticide), witches, traditional Pagans, neo-Pagans, and theosophical elites. Theosophy draws from Neoplatonism, Gnosticism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Together, these groups have infiltrated major non-profit organizations, entertainment agencies and studios, research labs, religious institutions, educational centers, and countless government agencies. Through this “Marxist collective” influence, they have successfully transformed the global spiritual consciousness away from Christianity toward a neo-Pagan resurgence.
What are the threats?
Christian virtues have been redefined as archaic bigotry. The new ethic of the so-called “religious Left” is establishing itself as a reimagined global order where infanticide (abortion), gender reassignment surgery (body part removal/deformation), “gain of function” research (laboratory development of COVID-19), and the apotheosis (elevation to divine status) of both a global state and humanity itself, are promoted. Put simply, this “Marxist collective” along with its “useful idiots” wish to replace “a belief in God” with a belief that “one IS God.” Also, as stated in the Communist Manifesto, “socialists are those the communists can work with”.
What are some obvious solutions?
First, any sound biblical interpretation will never portray God as the author of evil or a merciless oppressor of humanity, confusing God’s role with that of Satan. Accept God as representing justice, mercy, and forgiveness and accept His divine plan to bring redemption to a broken world through His Son, Jesus Christ.
What are some of the benefits of Believers and those around them?
If we carefully assess the life, liberty, and happiness of those around us, we see a clear pattern of success in the personal lives of true believers. Starting with ourselves, through faith, we can improve the lives of those around us by following the teachings of Jesus Christ that are found in the Bible. To become the best that we can be, we can humbly accept the interpretations of clergy that are trained in the proper interpretations of the Bible. The differences between the clergy of various denominations are minimal… especially when compared to the happiness brought into our lives due to our adherence to Christ’s teachings.
How can we all best resist the Paganism that surrounds us?
Reading Pastor Lucas Miles’ book, “Pagan Threat” is a minimum first step toward understanding the nature of the Godless uprising in America. My life with Christ right beside me since childhood has served me very well… but reading about the numerous threats and how effectively to confront them will make me a much better conduit for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am now fully committed to the Christian revival in America that was jump-started by Charlie Kirk’s assassination and will spend the remainder of my days dedicated to helping to finish what Charlie started… to the benefit of ALL of America’s citizens, including those lost (hopefully temporarily) already to the Pagan Threat.
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to the dead.
On the third day, He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From there, He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
