LYNN BERGMAN: PENNSYLVANIA VOTE VARIANCE 2012, 2016 AND 2024

Pennsylvania’s official total votes cast from presidential election years 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 were tabulated on an Excel spreadsheet. Note the considerable upward variation of Pennsylvania’s vote total (6,936,976) for 2020, representing a 4.98% upward variation from a straight line projection from 2012 (5,755,620) to 2024 (7,034,206). The 4.98%% upward variation in total votes cast in 2020 represented 328,966 votes. The 2016 downward variation in total votes cast was -0.26% or -16,337 votes. The Pennsylvania Democrat party’s winning margin in 2020 was 80,555 votes (3,458,228 - 3,377,674). The Pennsylvania Republican party’s winning margin in 2016 was 44,292 votes. The Republican party’s winning margin in 2024 was 120,266 votes.

 


Summary:

The total votes cast in 2012, 2016, and 2024 represent an almost straight line.

The total votes cast in 2020 represent about a 5% upward deviation from straight line of 2012 through 2024.

That 5% upward deviation represented about an additional 329,000 votes.

The winning margin for the Pennsylvania Democrat party in 2020 was 80,555 votes.

Now that I have tweaked your curiosity, you may wish to do your own investigation into the deviation in total votes cast for the 2020 presidential election in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
