Commentary by Lynn Bergman:
The most unexpected and startling result to me is one of the last revelations, the support for Capitalism by gender. An average of 62% of males and 39% of females supports Capitalism. Roughly 3 of 5 men and 2 of five women. If you wish to understand the differences between men and women that cause this ideological divide, please read Steven Pinker’s “The Blank Slate;” particularly Chapter 18, Gender. A complicated issue like this requires, at a minimum, the reading of the 35 pages. As stated on page 341 of the book, “… neuroscience, genetics, psychology, and ethnography are documenting sex differences that almost certainly originate in human biology. And, as stated on page 342 of the book, “To begin with, research on the biological basis of sex differences has been led by women.”
The next most unexpected result to me is that, in the US and UK, the most confused age group concerning political ideology was Ages 25-34, not Ages 18-24. I can only guess that Ages 25-34 are the “beginning of parenting and work” years that literally consume their thoughts and memories from “learning years”. I pray it is not because they never were taught concerning political ideologies.
Lastly, if you are wondering why support for Capitalism is waning in these four modern countries, look no further than Argentina and Venezuela, where “democratic socialists” and their “communists within” have been elected promising “Heaven on Earth” to destroy we “Eternalists” who understand that all gifts, including the gift of birth, are from Almighty God.
