DeSantis and Abbott Migrant Flights/Bussing

You’ve no doubt heard about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott bussing and flying illegals to various locations in 2022. The mainstream news media outlets were on it like a fly on honey. The flights attracted international attention and drew condemnation from Democrats and media such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and many others. Estimates vary around 10,000 migrants relocated.

But have you heard about the 71,617 migrants dropped off by the Biden administration in nearly 20 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia, in year 2021? The Department of Homeland Security says 40,000 of the 71,617 were “unaccompanied children”. Larry Keefe, a senior policy advisor to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said “The Biden Administration is running a clandestine, covert, middle-of-the-night special ops mission using the tradecraft the military does in operations against foreign enemies. We don’t have laws in place to investigate the federal government. We’re being kept in the dark by our own country on something that’s definitely contributing to human smuggling.”

Migrant Deaths

In fiscal 2022, more than 800 migrants dies on the journey to enter the U S, with drowning and heat exhaustion the leading causes. Had Presidents, Defense Secretaries, Attorneys General, Commissions, and Congress (in its oversight capacity) actually done their jobs during the last 36 years, we would have a secure border, increased numbers of legal immigrants, more legal immigrant union members, and considerably less human smuggling, sex trafficking, illegal drugs and resulting damage to both citizens and immigrants alike.

Conservatives realize that the 1986 promise of a secure border was never serious. Accordingly, they apply the axiom “Fool me once… shame on you; Fool me twice…shame on me!” Until the border has been 100% secure for at least three years… amnesty is off the table. The sooner that the border wall is finished and the border is 100% secured, the better for both Citizens and Immigrants.
