SALLY MORRIS:  A CALL FOR UNITY

There has been great interest in an intense and unusual pair of U.S. Senate races in Georgia, concurrent with the election scandal ongoing in that political hotbed.  If you are like me, you have been receiving several urgent messages every day from Newt Gingrich, Ted Cruz, pretty much everyone else, to send money and support Republican candidates Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.  The message is consistent:  if these two do not get elected we will go down the vortex of a Senate in the clutches of Chuck Schumer and it is only these two seats that stand in his way.  All of this is true.  We should want these Republican seats of course.

The question is, how badly do the candidates want them.  Let’s look at the context of this.  No one need describe the massive crowds that have been attending the Trump rallies both before and since the election.  Trump has been consistently drawing tens of thousands of attendees whether in Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Michigan, Florida or any other place he has shown up.  And . . . Georgia.  What these two candidates need are the people who have been showing up at Trump rallies.  It would be a no-brainer for them, then, to attract this massive support by supporting Trump’s efforts to fight the election fraud that threatens his landslide victory.

What is the percentage for these two in standing aloof?  Maybe they have said something supportive, but if so, I have not heard it, although their message asking for my support has been loud and clear.

Georgia is apparently subject to the same kind of RINO disease other states are suffering.  As the populist Republicans have been growing exponentially (or expodentially, if you are a Democrat) in both number and enthusiasm, the RINOs have become ever more toxic.  We’ve seen a lot of them calling for a concession speech and why not?  A lot of them were calling for a Democrat victory in the first place.  Some of these vermin were out there endorsing the life form of Joe Biden, in fact.  We have seen the development of the Lincoln Project, a venomous sect of RINOs and far-left Democrats - a sort of “flying column” there to strike from the flank at the successful amalgam of conservative-minded Americans.

The conservatives or “national populists” or whatever we want to call them, include long-term grassroots conservatives who have always been there - Reagan, Goldwater, even Taft Republicans if we want to look back that far.  They are the long-suffering Brent Bozell/William F. Buckley, Jr. Republicans who have been shut out of the mainstream forever, the “die-hards”.  They are being heard now only because a lot of people who previously voted Democrat - union members, small business people, black Americans, Hispanics, immigrants, have seen the danger in the leftists running the Democrat party.  Black voters are now seeing how they have been used and abused by the Democrats, Hispanics see that they have everything to lose with reckless immigration policies, working men and women realize that their future will depend upon defeating socialism.  Immigrants from socialist countries can attest first-person to the horrors of socialism.   These are your “new Republicans” - they are a coalition of very recent birth, some as recent as 2016, some even more recent.

They are here because they believe that Donald Trump fights for them and their interests and they trust him to be fair.  They all know the truth - he’s not a racist.  He might not be a “constitutionalist” but he has thus far governed as one, so the “die-hards” are coming around, even those who did not trust him in 2016 (like me).  He seems to have grown into the job and he has, importantly, attracted more and more and more followers.

Right now we are seeing the resistance to a coup d’etat, with Trump having, as far as a reasonable person can ascertain, won the election by a large margin.  At the same time as those who support the continuation of the Republic and the defeat of this coup are still holding rallies, the RINO element are calling for defeat.  And make no mistake here - defeat this year basically precludes the necessity of running one of these shows again in four years.  What we allow this year will control 2024.

So what is the thinking on the part of these two Senate candidates?  Lin Wood, the star attorney with Sidney Powell, leading the investigation and striking back at the totally corrupted voting system that was used to disenfranchise millions of Americans this year - Dominion and its close cousins - has called these people out for their failure to support the current election fight.  He is right.  Wood is a native of Georgia with deep roots in his state.  He probably knows where a lot of skeletons are hidden and perhaps he has a pretty good bead on just who and what these two candidates really are.  He has called them out and asked for them to take a stand.  So far, no dice.  Meanwhile everyone from Lindsay Graham to Ted Cruz is trying to whip up support for them.  Yesterday Trump called on Lin Wood and his colleague, Sidney Powell, to call off the dogs and ask for support for the candidates, Perdue and Loeffler.  Today Cruz was quoted as calling Lin Wood a “clown” and trying to get a snarky dig in about him sounding “like a Democrat”, an attack on the fact that Wood has been independent politically and even donated large sums to Democrats (even including Obama).  But here’s the problem with that attack.  First, a whole lot of the Republican votes that have put Trump in office in the first place and should keep him in office in even greater numbers this year, have also been Democrats, some of them very recently.  And Trump himself gave $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation not that long before he ran against Hillary.  So this is not a good idea, Ted.

What we need is not division among like-minded Republican voters - we need these recently-born Republicans, many if not most, from among the disaffected Democrats.  What will drive them away is calling someone out for having been a Democrat in the past if they have come around to our point of view and “seen the light”, or infusing the party with any more Lincoln Project RINO sellouts.  Cruz and other like-minded party Republicans need to be aware of the demoralizing effect they have on loyal Republican voters who are fighting for all they’re worth to see this fraud defeated.  Cruz is perceived as being the “enemy”.  This is just not good.  Instead of getting quips off about “Democrats”, instead of some razor-sharp dig or insult hurled at someone you disagree with on a point, it would be far more productive and conducive to the end result you want if you take a more balanced view and bite your tongue before you unload on your own troops.

If Ted Cruz and Donald Trump want to school someone about unity, they would be better advised to have a little talk with Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.  They are the problem, not Lin Wood.  The bottom line is this:  if this election is not corrected the next one - the Senate race - won't matter, nor will any other.  Ever.
