SALLY MORRIS: A GOOD CALL FOR EDUCATION

Democrats opposing Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Lamar Alexander in their efforts to give parents choice in their children’s education and opportunities for low-income students to benefit from school choice, cite the impact diverting government funds to alternative schools would have on the public schools.

The “Public Schools” – another sacred cow.  Does it occur to any of these Democrats that their job is to serve these children?  Why would they think it their duty to represent Public Schools?  Have Public Schools been somehow elevated above the people they purport to serve?  Have Education, the Public Interest and America’s Children now been sent to the back of the line to make way for Public Schools?

Sit up and pay attention, America!  Your kids are being cheated while our nation’s enemies’ children are forging ahead.  Is there some reason why Democrats believe it is legitimate to promote public schools at the expense of their responsibility to ensure the best education for our children?  Is there something so extra-special about the sacred Public School that we should allow our own children to become slaves of those who have an education of which they have been deprived?

The Public Schools in America are not only a disgrace.  This wouldn’t make a headline.  But they are helping to ensure our country’s future failure and ultimate enslavement of our people.  Is that okay with you?  It is time to rip off the mask and expose the public school scam for what it really is.  It is not there to serve you or your kids or the public or American employers seeking qualified workers.  It is there to serve other entities:   teachers’ unions, anti-American propaganda, inappropriate – even deviant – sex education and Planned Parenthood.

On Sunday morning I read a story about a Portland, Oregon, math and computer science high school teacher, Bill Diss.  This man dared to express his opposition to his school being used to promote Planned Parenthood and its pet project in Portland – an inner city abortion mill catering to the poor and Hispanics.  He refused to allow Planned Parenthood thugs to invade his classroom to recruit his students.  He believed that 1) he had a right to express his opinion as a citizen, 2) that students were being exploited by Planned Parenthood and 3) that he had the right to refuse to assist them by turning his classroom over to them.  For this he was fired and escorted out of the school under a police guard.  This story tells us a lot about what is happening to our schools.  It also tells us why these schools are so vitally important to the Democrats and their extreme fellow travelers.  After all, Planned Parenthood commands a LOT of money and they can spread it around.

Meanwhile, even though our public school students are learning the basics of cross-dressing and how to question their own sexual orientation and how to promote free sex experimentation from pre-school until graduation (when, presumably, the student is ready to tackle “Sensitivity to Bestiality” courses at Harvard), they are not learning to read and write at normal levels and we can all but forget math and science (outside of deviant social behavior, of course).  The big losers, aside from all of us who are paying enormous amounts of tax dollars to support this, are these kids.  Kids who have been systematically and evilly deprived of normal childhood, devoid of sexual experimentation and moral manipulation, deprived of the necessary learning opportunities their grandparents had.  They are also wasting 12 years (more if they attend college) of precious life.

Isn’t it past time to offer alternatives?  There is no reason in the world why our kids are forced into this one-size-fits-none system while we all go broke paying for Planned Parenthood and union community organizers.

Here’s an idea for you – call your Senators and tell them to support Rand Paul and his colleagues in this bill to offer choice to parents.  Then let your Congressman know that you support this and try to light a fire in Congress to do the same.  We can’t afford to waste time on this.  Wasting time literally wastes lives – our kids’ lives.

The best option remains home school.  Only there can you be sure what your child is being taught.  Only there can you instill values and morals along with important academic studies.  If for reasons which can really only be dismissed as “excuses”, you opt to put your child in a school, at least make sure it is one that does not promote promiscuity, Islam, moral relativism, socialism or other cultural disease.  Make sure that your child is learning the true history of our country, that he is actually learning to read and write and take a close look at WHAT he’s reading.  Check to see if he really understands math. Don’t use his report card to determine anything.  Drop in at your kid’s school and sit in once in a while.  If teachers object you know instantly that things are not right in that classroom.

And in the meantime, even if you home school, do support every effort to improve schools and promote school choice for others.  Remember this:  your child will have to live in a world peopled by those who have been in schools.  Until sanity takes over and everyone teaches their own children at home, we must cope with schools and their product.  We must do all we can to support Rand Paul and those who are trying to improve the situation in our tattered education system.  The socialists have had the steering wheel for long enough.

Does it seem strange to you that the Obamas elected to send their daughters to Sidwell Friends School in Washington and yet denied this opportunity to the vast majority – the poor – of the capitol city?  Remember when, under the previous administration, vouchers were offered to low income families and their children blossomed in their education?  It actually saved tax dollars!  Why, then, did Obama end this program?  Why, indeed.  You will notice that most of those who are adamantly opposed to choice do choose other options for themselves.  They can afford to.  We are paying them huge salaries, after all.  We don’t all have that kind of money.  But when they do they do NOT choose public schools.  It is a lot like gun control.  What is good for the goose, they believe, is not good enough for the gander.

Just make the call.
