SALLY MORRIS A MODEST PROPOSAL FROM NEW YORK
As 2021 draws painfully to its end, a new plan of action is being launched against the only enemy our government will take on: “Covid”. On January 5 of 2022 – next week, in other words – the New York State Assembly will be voting on a bill which, if passed, would give the governor total power over the lives of everyone in the state – Assembly Bill A416. It would allow the governor to have anyone she “deems” a threat to “public health” to be incarcerated, given forced medical treatment including “preventative care” such as, but not limited to, vaccines. The term of this detention would initially supposedly be limited to 60 days. However, the length of time could be extended on the same basis, depending upon the whim of the governor/government official taking responsibility.
Perhaps this kind of bill is necessary. Perhaps it needs to be passed and its provisions executed. Perhaps innocent people must go to quarantine jail for eternal sentences without trial, without counsel, without due process. Perhaps the public’s mental health must have this kind of bill in order for it to snap out of it. We have seen this on video from Australia and to most of us it seems surreal. Law-abiding citizens hauled off in vans and imprisoned in camps set up for the purpose. They have been strictly confined to their assigned quarters, threatened with dire consequences if they set foot across arbitrarily painted yellow lines. We scoff at this. “It will never happen in America,” we gloat. “We have a Second Amendment.”
That, of course, would be a mere formality. It would be not a shield against tyranny here but likely more of a curb to step over for the government. Given the weak state of the collective American mind today, it would be just an easy step. Provoke an attack. Knock on the right person’s door and get shot at or even prod a citizen to “brandish” a gun, as the couple in St. Louis did in the face of threatened violence at their home, and the silly public will support abridgement of that right toute de suite and voilà – no more Second Amendment. That was actually supposed to happen with the January 6 rally in Washington, the “insurrection”. By the way, those taken into custody for attending that event are still in jail awaiting not only trial but some sort of charge. Like Edmund Dantes they languish in the Chateau d’If. Such will likely be the case with the mild-mannered “vaccine hesitant” who are rounded up in New York. And it won’t just be those “guilty” of non-compliance, those not “fully vaccinated”, but anyone who has been in contact with someone who comes down with some form of “covid” or even just tests positive. And it does not specify “covid” either. It could be anything. Whatever the governor deems a “threat to public health”. This could be the flu, it could be anything.
It would be overly optimistic to expect the American public, in its weakened state, to actually support the Second Amendment in its proper context of individual right to self-defense. The Second Amendment is but a wall of parchment. If we don’t defend that parchment with something stiffer we have nothing. No one in government can reasonably be expected to see this as a deterrent. So we are virtually situated similarly to the cowed people of Australia. Or Canada.
We could, however, band together, the “vaccinated” and the “unvaccinated” and pool our strength and expectation of freedom in our own country and stop complying with any of this. We could do as I and others have suggested – elect sheriffs based on their willingness to uphold the letter of the Constitution regardless of petty potentates who would strip it away. We could stop wearing masks and overwhelm those who would attempt to force us. We could stop lining up for these fake covid tests. We could refuse. We could ALL tell our employers to stuff it. They would come to understand that people do have power. Will we? Apparently not, at least to this point.
This is why I think that New York’s Assembly Bill A416 needs to be passed and implemented and countless innocent citizens must be persecuted. History seems to be telling us that only when the law becomes utterly intolerable will the public resist it or stop it. The Salem Witch Trials are an example of this in our own nation’s history – a total of 19 innocent people lost their lives to this hysteria. Many more lost livelihoods, families, friends, businesses.
The history of these Witch Trials is instructive. It began with the British withdrawing Salem’s colonial charter and replacing it with a new one which was supposed to guarantee the rights of Anglicans and curb the influence of the Puritans. Inasmuch as the Puritans were trying to survive in the wilderness of New England in the 17th Century rather than at their hearths in Cornwall due entirely to their desire to worship as they wished, this was seen as an attack. The unsettling nature of this combined with the rest of the picture, and throw in an outbreak of smallpox and a few other elements such as use of weird herbs that caused tics or strange behavior and a bit of good old seasonal depression and you have fertile ground for the hysteria which ensued.
Several young girls in the community, mainly daughters of very strict Puritan fathers, began acting strangely and when examined accused neighbor ladies of having “bewitched” them. The women accused were given about the same rights as the January 6 “insurrectionists” or the proposed “threats to public health” targeted by New York’s proposed legislation – in other words, none. This nonsense built up with growing lists of suspected “witches”. Anyone who took exception to this lunacy was also accused and some were executed – executed for merely suggesting there might be an explanation other than “witchcraft”. Realists. It became very dangerous to attempt to express a different view. Does any of this sound familiar? It could be recounted on The View today without a murmur of dissent.
Of course our Witch Trials were a sort of fluke – they went on for about a year and a half. The Spanish Inquisition lasted a bit longer. That, too, was based to a great extent upon the recent experiences of the Spanish Christians under recent Muslim rule. Regardless of the pretty pictures painted today, that time was a very grim one for Christians. The Germans allowed this in their country, the Austrians in theirs, by Nazis, this time scapegoating Jews and gypsies, as well as the infirm. It was for Public Health according to the Nazis. It’s a “tale as old as time”. The Soviets sent their dissidents to either gulags or mental hospitals to get them out of the way. We saw a return of this with the internment camps FDR established to contain Japanese Americans (emphasis on “Americans”) during WWII. German Americans, too, suffered, although their plight was less well publicized. In all cases, besides the lunatics pointing fingers, there have always been opportunists who used these laws to benefit their own exchequers. Many Japanese business owners whose families had been loyal American citizens for three generations were rounded up, humiliated and dispossessed, transported to inland camps while others benefited by their loss. It was true in Salem, in Germany, Russia and Spain.
Needless to say, the provisions of A416 will be used to enrich some at the expense of others while the latter rot in some camp. Forever. Like Edmund Dantes.
But, hey. It might be worth it. Maybe only when we see the damage done by this nutty hysteria over a flu virus, now reduced by Omicron to the level of the common cold, will we see that we have attempted to trade our freedom, our heritage, our legacy, for some flimsy perceived “safety” or “public health”. Just as in Salem in 1692, there is no “science” or sense behind it. And if one attempts to invoke science or common sense he, too, will be labeled a witch. We have allowed debate to be outlawed here. We have allowed media to delete the important messages and cautions of actual experts whenever they disagreed with a public policy. We have allowed our institutions to strip them of their careers and even their earned credentials. We have effectively silenced discussion and debate – the surest evidence that there is wrongdoing in progress. We have allowed ourselves, as a collective, to be governed by fear of some nebulous threat of a virus. Fear has been used to deprive us of our Constitution.
Unless we see through this, and see the true value of our God-given, government-deprived rights by witnessing in real time our neighbors, co-workers and friends – or ourselves - carted away in the tumbrils to some hidden concentration camp, never to been seen again, we might not understand that this is not and has never been about “public health” or a “virus”. It is all about control. It is all about scapegoating. Just as it was in Nazi Germany. When someone needs someone else to blame it will happen. It seems to be the unfortunate nature of public frenzy.
For those who think, “I’m fully vaccinated. My family is vaccinated. It won’t affect me,” I have a couple of cautions. Firstly, you only think you are “fully vaccinated”. Maybe you didn’t spot this on the radar, but the definition of “fully vaccinated” is changing. It will continue to change, to be “updated” as new products come on the market and need to be pushed for profits. You will remember that Merriam Webster has even changed the definition of “vaccine” in order to accommodate the product now being injected into people – which is not a vaccine under normal definition. So just because you are currently labeled “fully vaccinated” doesn’t mean your label doesn’t have an expiration date. Just like a bulgy old can of beans you forgot in the basement pantry, you have an expiration date of your own. So if you miss your scheduled injection appointment by a day you might find yourself arrested under the proposed law.
I’m all for it. I hope that a lot of people formerly “vaccinated” will fall under this law as “non-compliant”. I hope that this bill passes so that we can display to the doubters the true program and agenda of the government juggernaut, fueled by a phony epidemic and using a lethal injection to subdue the dissidents. Until we see innocent people purged before our eyes we will have to listen to the apologists for the vaccines and the government precautions, such as masks and distancing and closing of businesses.
It is interesting that the community of Salem ultimately failed, largely due to the Witch Trials. It seems that the population was so distracted by and so focused on the witch hunt and the trials and executions and imprisonment of the unfortunate victims that businesses were neglected, crops were untended and there was no food. Eventually hunger and a destroyed economy finished off the settlement. It is not so unlike our current “food chain disruption” threat, is it? One thing we can’t get along without is a food and water supply. And the vaccine mandates are forcing people out of the workforce. Goods are stacking up at the docks undelivered. Truckers are threatened with violations if they cross state lines with their loads if they are not “fully vaccinated” (which now means “boosted”), so many are just quitting the business. Our military will be in no condition to defend our country because the healthy ones who have rejected the vaccines are being kicked out, leaving only those subject to sudden heart attacks or strokes due to the effects of the vaccines. Kind of an echo of the past.
And all of this is based on nonsense. We know, for example, that children do not die of covid – in fact they rarely catch it. Yet in New York City a five-year-old was kicked out of a restaurant because he “didn’t have his papers”. Just as in the U.K., in Australia, in Canada and other English-speaking hellholes, the police are turning into thugs who are constantly seen persecuting the innocent.
We know, at least those of us who do any research at all or listen to any experts, that the “vaccines” being mandated everywhere are 1) ineffective – those areas with the highest vaccination rates have the highest level of illness from “covid” - they call them “breakthrough cases” but they look like the result of the “vaccines” and 2) are causing debilitating and permanent injuries and deaths – and we also know 3) that we are being lied to by the CDC and other “authorities” and information is being managed so as to deceive us. The “vaccines” are ineffective and very, very dangerous with unknown long-term effects and they are, above all, experimental. We also know that if we get sick we can use proven safe and effective drugs (such as Ivermectin) to cure the illness very quickly. And we know that certain people are becoming very wealthy on the backs of those who suffer.
While the New York State Assembly votes on a bill which would allow people who have committed no crime to be placed in concentration camps without due process, perhaps depriving their families of their breadwinners, their businesses to close, other crimes go not only unpunished but un-addressed. The end consumers of Ghislaine Maxwell’s and Jeffrey Epstein’s trade in little girls, for example, are of no interest whatsoever (unless they happen to intersect with the “unvaxxed”). The shoplifter may range about with a pick axe, the murderer with his knife, as long as they do not fall under A416. The only reason I hesitate is because New York will be a sort of test case to see what an out-of-control government will think up and get away with. Minnesota might be next. That is not unlikely.
It’s an insane world and America has become an insane nation of delusional people so afraid of a cold that they gave up their Constitution. No due process, no trial by a jury of peers, no freedom of speech, assembly or press, no freedom of practice of religion, no security of persons or property . . . and we no longer honor the Nuremberg Code which was based upon a principle for which we sacrificed some 400,000 lives in battle and enormous costs at home. None of it matters to us anymore – because of a flu.
There is no “emergency” for which we should ever sacrifice more than a week of our normal rights. Those kinds of emergencies would be a wildfire, an earthquake, a hurricane, a terrorist attack, but never an outbreak of a disease, ever. And the others are questionable. We have given away something we must now fight very hard if we are to get back, something that did not belong to us. We are mere stewards of the freedom our forefathers fought and died for. We are to pass this freedom on, undamaged, to our children. Now we have nothing to pass along to them. We must earn it all over again. Will it require bloodshed again? Only time will tell.
This is the sad state of America, the once great, at the end of the year 2021.
