Yesterday Congress went and passed some more anti-Second Amendment legislation.  Of course their only reason for wanting to do this is not to create obstacles for criminals.  They don’t give a damn about mass murders or shooting incidents.  They are oblivious to the kind of crime we get a Monday update on from Chicago every week.  None of this concerns them and none of this is the target of the efforts of Congress.  No.  What this is about is disarming law-abiding citizens and rendering them helpless in the face of either government tyranny, street crime, home invasions or riots.  How do we know this?  

At the risk of sounding patronizing - and really, that is not what I want to be - criminals, rioters, drug dealers, kidnappers and human traffickers do not get their guns the way law-abiding citizens do.  Citizens buy their guns from other lawful gun owners - at shows, perhaps, or just privately, the way someone might sell a set of stereo speakers, or they buy them from brick-and-mortar gun dealers.  Criminals don’t do that.  You think?  If you were going to use your gun in a shooting spree in a mall would you go out and dutifully complete the process of legally buying a gun?  I guess not.  They steal them.  Maybe they borrow them.  Without permission usually.  

So these new laws are meant for you and me and everyone who is not a terrorist or criminal.  H.R.8 provides for universal background registration checks, H.R.1446 provides for lengthy waiting periods before being able to obtain a gun.  They passed with the help of some “Republicans”.  (We need to weed this party out.)  There was another bill, also.  This one was to provide concealed carry reciprocity - an idea which makes perfect sense.  Americans cross state lines every day and quite possibly they have their concealed weapon for self-defense.  Very likely the greatest need you might have for your weapon might be on a road trip.  Well, this bill was defeated.  Same basic bunch of traitors were responsible.  

In the same vein, in the U.K., a moron has proposed, in response to increasing crime and violence on the streets there, and considering that most of the violence seems to be perpetrated by a certain classification of men, that there be a 6:00 p.m. curfew on all men.  So now, if this asinine idea gets on the books, any woman who must go out of doors after 6:00 p.m. will have to go unescorted.  Should put a crimp in dating customs, and end to concerts, plays, restaurants, balls, karaoke, pubs . . . basically anything worth getting off work to do.  And it will leave these women vulnerable to those bad guys who don’t run inside when the curfew sirens go off.  Those who lived through the London air raids of World War II should feel a wave of nostalgia.  

For the rest however, who do not have fond memories of air raid sirens and people running to take cover, this will be one of the few things politicians could pull out of their nether regions to make life even more miserable in Old Blighty.  And again, it is all premised on the same stupid, flawed “reasoning”.  Because the acid-throwing terrorists, the knife-wielding felons, the rapists, robbers, they are not going to be among those who take cover at 6:00 p.m.  Because now that is when the pickings would get better.  Absolutely no interference by civilized men who are accompanying ladies on the streets.  And please don’t tell us how this is going to make England safer.  Please don’t.

There seems little doubt that all these people are up to on either side of either ocean is to find as many innovative or just plain thuggish ways to make life more miserable for innocent, law-abiding people, while giving every possible advantage to the absolute worst among us.  We can try to deny this because it would seem to make no sense.  But no one can be this stupid.  The dotty old lady in the British Parliament who proposed the curfew is on the same page as crazy Nancy Pelosi.  Neither of them is promoting these ideas because they are likely to produce a good result for the public or reduce crime or violence.  They might be dumb, but no one who is out of diapers (at the moment, anyway) is that dumb.  

No, their agenda is just different from that of normal people.  These people are NOT normal.  They have as their goal the total subjugation of the decent law-abiding citizens of their countries.  They also tend to have their own gangs of armed security guards.  This is why criminals get bailed out of jail, why they are turned loose on the public “due to covid”, while normal , healthy people are locked up on the pretext of "quarantine", why ordinary people are investigated if they need to use a firearm to defend themselves.  No.  If these people really wanted to take a bite out of crime they would encourage private ownership of and training in the use of firearms.  They would have self-defense courses in school, instead of critical race theory.  They would put police on the project of tracking down and arresting and prosecuting criminals - there are plenty of them on which to drop the net, after all - and not running around kicking doors in and fining people for having too many family members over for the old plum pudding at Christmas dinner.  The U.S. president would not have stopped the building of a wall to protect American citizens from drug and human traffickers flooding across our border from Central and South America.  Even Mexico is alarmed.  We are acting like a giant vacuum cleaner, sucking the worst of the worst from Guatemala or wherever through Mexico.  I don’t blame them for getting upset with this.  

The sooner we understand the why of all of this the better if we are to stop it and return to normal, constructive response to crime and violence.  These people work all day and all night to find ways to run interference for these felons, at our expense.  Sure.  Why not?  They provide the excuse, however flimsy and illogical, for putting the rest of us under lock and key and taking away our means of self protection.  And what they want is a populace that is so whipped, from covid shutdowns and stifling and dehumanizing masks, to 6:00 p.m. curfews for grown men to stripping us of our heritage of freedom and the right to keep and bear arms.  There is no good in these people.  They are not trying to deal with crime and we shouldn’t let them get away with that claim.  We should confront them and let them know in no uncertain terms that we’re onto them.  We know what they are doing and we will not cooperate in our own incarceration, murder or punishment.  We don’t walk on our knuckles, we don’t live in trees.  We are homo sapiens, we walk upright and we are not their subjects, at least not in America.  They are our unsatisfactory employees.
