SALLY MORRIS: ARE WE SMARTER THAN THE ALLIGATORS?
Last week many of us heard Sheriff Richard Mack tell us that we need to act LOCALLY to take back our republic. Some of us have, for a very long time, been advocating for putting our attention on the election of sheriffs. The county sheriff, elected by the people of the jurisdiction, is the ONLY elected law enforcement official. We can control everything that happens to us through the office of the county sheriff. The sheriff can tell the federal agent to go peddle his papers, whether from OSHA or the ATF. But all that power is ignored and left in the ditch by people who think only in terms of Senate candidates or Congress or the President.
Here are a couple of examples: Ruby Ridge could have been avoided had the local sheriff taken his job seriously and held federal agents to the law. The fallout from Ruby Ridge may never end - one incident related to this was the Oklahoma City bombing. Another instance would have been the Waco disaster - where men, women and children were burned alive by the agents of then-Attorney General Janet Reno in order to smoke out (literally - sorry!) David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidian sect. Had the sheriff stepped in and done his job instead of hiding out, the federal agents would not have acted violently against innocent people. The sheriff could have detained the individual in question any time of any day on the streets of Waco. He could have told the federal government agents to get lost. Instead, negligent sheriffs in both of these cases allowed tragic incidents to take place. We are all harmed by every instance of government overreach, every violation of every person’s constitutional rights. If it is ok to violate one guy’s rights in Waco or Ruby Ridge, it will be considered ok to violate your rights. When does this become important to you?
Here the pundit, “Salty Cracker” puts it very well. (Language advisory.) This is something you need to listen to. He has put his finger on exactly the point. He is warning people not to act out in violence in Washington. A riot would do no good - it would bring down our Second Amendment, in fact - the worst possible outcome. What we CAN do, however, is absolutely stymie them at the local level. We need to get serious if we are going to save our republic. A real patriot won’t put on a MAGA hat and take his gun to Washington. Instead, he will expose corruption in his own city council, reveal the trail of control/money coming into his hometown from corrupt Washington sources and who is benefiting from it. He will run for city council himself perhaps. He will support only those candidates for sheriff who understand their proper role and are willing to act responsibly and uphold the Constitution, who understands that their oath is to uphold that Constitution, not support some “authority”, some celebrity tyrant from “higher up”, who understand that they are already the supreme authority, not OSHA, not the FBI, not the ATF, not the EPA. And that the sheriff;s authority comes from the Constitution he swears to uphold.
It has been ten years since we first brought this up to our readers. Are things improving? If not, we have ourselves to blame. It is hard work to elect the right sheriff, to send the right people to our city councils and our state legislatures and county commissions. Thes un-glamorous offices are, in fact, the heart of our power. Isn’t that amazing? The guy you humble yourself before at the city council meeting, begging for his approval for your building plan, or his ear regarding your complaint, he is the person who can exercise the most power. The county commissioner sitting in some stack chair in some dusty auditorium in some small town exercises the real power. The sheriff can absolutely protect you and your rights. But only if you elect the right people. Maybe the right person is you. Maybe it is someone else you know to be honest and intelligent.
Right now we are looking down the throat of the monster that is intent on having us for dinner. Are we going to take action at long last? Or are we going to play soldier and gear up for a doomed assault on the capitol? We know this - the latter course of action will result in well-intentioned “patriots” being held in prison and beaten daily without oversight or supervision and worse, cancellation on this pretext of the Second Amendment. We need to protect that and use every other means before we resort to that. Until we have taken over our state legislatures, our city councils, our county commissions and our county sheriffs’ offices with upstanding, intelligent patriots, knowledgeable about their role under our Constitution and committed to defending that Constitution we will continue to see daily abuse of that Constitution and our human rights by the "authorities".
Make no mistake - we are all under immediate threat. We can either act intelligently ourselves or we will be the generation that ended the Great Experiment in government by the people.
