SALLY MORRIS: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR
We had better be very, very careful about blindly supporting anyone whom Donald Trump endorses. Recently he endorsed Dr. Oz, who is running for the Senate in Pennsylvania. Oz has publicly supported the measures employed by the communist Chinese government as a “response to Covid-19”. This would include draconian lockdowns and other abuses of the people and now . . . in the midst of yet severe and total lockdown, with people at the point of starvation and welded into their rabbit-hutch apartments again in Shanghai . . . the government is destroying food on a massive scale - including people’s private back-yard gardens.
These policies, promoted and praised by Oz, have driven the people of Shanghai to insanity. Their screams are heard day and night, hour after hour. Their children have been taken away from them, their pets euthanized, the gardens of those fortunate enough to have had them have been destroyed. They are flinging themselves from the skyscrapers in their despair. This is what Oz would want to see in America - and if he is elected and enough like-minded villains are elected along with him, we will look back on 2022 as a period of heavenly bliss by comparison. Be careful what you wish for. Experience should be teaching us that pretty much whatever China is doing to its people today, our government will be doing to us tomorrow.
As late as last November, even after wide-spread evidence became available about the life-threatening damage and deaths that are now being attributed to the vaccine, Oz was praising Trump’s foolish dismantling of safety regulations to protect Americans from the unreasonable risks of experimental vaccines. He is a Trump toady as well as a China toady. What more do we need to know about Dr. Meh?
Obviously we can no longer trust in Trump. We run a risk, when we look at Joe Biden, of wanting anything else that that cat dragged in instead of another round of this, but let’s just pause. Just as we would not want our daughter to pick the second-worst mate possible, just to avoid her choosing the absolute worst, it might be time to sit down, calm down and look for better alternatives.
Trump has shown abysmal judgment in many, many areas - his selection of cabinet members and Supreme Court nominees (and other judges as well) have been beyond disgusting. His decision to allow the shutdowns and the rest of the covid over-reactions and Chicken-Little behaviors harmed the nation beyond measure - he allowed Dr. Anthony Fauci to basically take control of the entire nation’s health decisions while he completely destroyed the already fragile and flimsy protection provided by the already corrupt FDA and CDC. He is so ego-invested in this program, in fact, that he cannot admit, even now, with hundreds of thousands of vaccine injuries, that he made a terrible mistake. That should be our first clue that we should no longer trust him..
This is fairly important right now because people are being lined up for important positions in the coming election. Our state conventions are about to make decisions and well-meaning conservative delegates are going to be offered a few choices. There will be the usual RINOs on offer and they will be as aggressive as always, since the days of Eisenhower’s nomination - when Taft delegates were literally kidnapped and put on trains out of town. So they will be one danger. But an equal, if not greater, danger lies in accepting any old thing Trump sees fit to endorse. He is so controlled by his own ego that “Mr. Ed” could probably get his endorsement if he fawned over the Great Man enough. And there are delegates so equally mesmerized by Trump that they would nominate him to run. Not that Mr. Ed would do nearly as much damage as Dr. Oz, of course.
It is to be hoped that this convention season will not crash on the rocks of more Trump worship. We can’t afford another Lindsay Graham or Mitt Romney in Congress, of course, but there has to be a better alternative than a Dr. Oz. Somewhere. Let’s pray he comes forward. And while we’re at it we need to be finding a replacement for Trump himself. His monster meetings in Ohio and other parts notwithstanding, he is not going to be our “savior”. We must do better.
