A lot has been said lately regarding proposed "Red Flag" laws.  These are part of the latest push from those who would subvert our Constitution and take away the fundamental Second Amendment right to self defense.  It is clearly understood by those who would take our freedom from us that the first thing they must do is take our guns.  Our right to arms is closely tied to our long-established rights to everything else we cherish - our freedom of speech, our right to peacefully assemble, to worship as well as a plethora of other rights we value in America.  Other republics and democracies have come along since our Revolution of 1776 but few have survived.  We can see what has happened even in England, once thought of as a "free" country.  When people cannot defend themselves against an individual attacker nor a tyrannical government they soon lose the freedom they believed they had.  It becomes a fragile illusion.

Next week the Senate is going to vote on Red Flag laws.  These will be dressed up for our consumption as "reasonable" or "cautious".  They are anything but that.  The Red Flag laws are just the first step in an inexorable path to abolishing our Second Amendment.  

Dan Wos gives us some good examples of why "cautious" or "reasonable" "delays" (they won't deprive us of guns - they will "delay" our right to arms) are a vicious attack on our freedom and our right to self protection.  Please take a look at these very short (under 3 minutes each) presentations.  Wos has broken this issue down to its essential points.  Don't delay, though.  D-Day will be sometime next week.  

Unfortunately, President Trump is urging this on us.  Say what you will about Trump, he is no scholar or respecter of our Constitution.  These laws are clear violations of the Constitution but, like many other violations which people have complacently accepted, this stands a good chance of passing and being signed into law.  

FREEDOM LOST WILL BE GONE FOREVER.  Don't let this happen.  Call your Senator (and other Senators as well!) and express your strong opposition to these schemes.  Don't be talked into submission.  You are bartering away not only your freedom but your children's and grandchildren's.  It's all for nothing.  These laws will do nothing to stop criminals but they will make it impossible for a law-abiding citizen to protect himself or herself, or one's family.
