SALLY MORRIS: HOW SAFE IS OUR SECOND AMENDMENT?
I have a friend who assures me every time we talk and I bring up concerns about anything - from out-of-control immigration to crime to government overstepping its authority - whatever the issue - that we’re not like other countries because we’ve got the Second Amendment and no red-blooded American will stand for it. So don’t worry.
There are problems with this. Sure, I believe strongly in the Second Amendment, but a lot of Americans have no idea that it is as fragile as it really is. It’s not under attack only by evil, devil-worshipping, foaming-at-the-mouth leftists. It is under attack by many who should be defending it, for many of the same reasons that our other freedoms are under attack. It is convenient for many so-called “Republicans” to dance with the devil on this. It is a virulent form of mug-wumpism. They want to be able to say that they are great supporters of our Bill of Rights while at the same time winking at the crowd who want to disarm us in hopes that they will toss them a few crumbs in the way of votes. They want to keep their jobs more than they want to make waves. So guess who loses in that one?
Everyone feels great about Trump right now. He’s the MAN! But not that long ago he was pandering heavily to the gun-grabbers through his tentative (and at least temporarily withheld) support of the red flag laws. It seemed a safe way to go for a guy who didn’t want to sacrifice any votes on any side. A sort of half-measure kinda thing. We need to make sure that no one gives him support or encouragement to go back to that idea. Otherwise he'll make a deal. All of our leaders need to know that they are there at OUR pleasure and that they need to support our rights.
We’ve talked about red flag laws before. The problem with them is that the VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION. Nothing important. Just that. They do not provide any due process. To me that would be a big problem. Not to a lot of Republicans, though. Red flag laws, promoted by “heroes” like Senator Lindsay Graham, (R-SC) can be used to violate our Fourth Amendment (unlawful search and seizure) and it has the effect of a de facto elimination of our First Amendment - because the wrong point of view expressed publicly (or even privately to the wrong person) can result in activation of red flag laws and seizure of your weapons.
These so-called “moderates” also like to fall back on the idea of expanded “background checks”. (It’s ten-o’clock. Do you know where your privacy is?) These innocuous-seeming background checks will mean huge databases. Virtually everything you say and do will end up in some kind of file compiled in order to ensure that only the “right” kind of people are allowed to obtain guns (legally, that is). This will result in the necessity of gun registration, of course. And we know what that means. Gun confiscation is a two-step process. Step One is to find out where the guns are. You know what Step Two is. So when we hear the buzz word “background check” we should not react with, “So what? I haven’t got anything to hide.” And who knows? Maybe your best friend does - and that will go into your file too.
We have otherwise sane-looking politicians advocating for getting rid of particular kinds of guns - the ones that look “frightening”. Frankly, a gun should look “frightening”. We should be “frightened” by a gun. We should at least respect it. But what looks scary to some politician who wants to ban it is pretty much relative. Either we have a Second Amendment or we don’t. We also have no business signing onto globalist, UN policies or regulations which subvert our own laws. Hilary Clinton thought it was a great idea and signed onto the so-called UN Small Arms Treaty. This is a great way to overthrow our own government and become a vassal of the UN. Thank goodness the Senate did not support it. But it could come up again. Whose laws are we bound by? Our Constitution, which we are sworn to uphold and protect? Enacted and preserved by consent of the governed? Or the UN? (My own vote would be to exit the UN, with the sole exception of the Security Council - and never look back. We have spent far too much to support this organization which has proven to be an enemy of the interests of Americans.)
When you hear some senator - of either party - promoting any of these ideas in order to keep their mug-wump status and get votes from both sides, call them out. Literally. Call them. Here’s the number (put it in your phone as an instant dial number): 202-224-3121. Call them often. Let them know you are watching them. We are being set up not just by Democrats and Socialists, but by so-called “Republicans”. When you go to your caucuses, get some kind of commitment from the candidates who are soliciting your support!!! This is the time to put them on notice about what is important to you. Ask them to sign a petition in total support of the Second Amendment. That surely is not too much to ask of someone who hopes to place his hand on a Bible and take an oath to do so. Let these guys know that YOU know what that means, that you will hold them responsible to keep their word. If they won’t give it, lead the charge for someone else who will. Denounce anyone who will not accept the Bill of Rights! That’s your duty. And it is better than blindly swaggering about just thinking you have a right that is protected when you are vulnerable.
As part of my Black History Month features, I’d like to share with you an interesting conversation between Candace Owens and Maj Toure. It happens to be about our right to bear arms. And it’s always worth hearing what Candace has to say on a variety of topics. So google a few more youtube videos of her making mincemeat out of leftists - and of course, share them!
