SALLY MORRIS:  IT ISN’T “NICE” ANYMORE

We are nearing the end of 2019.    Next year will be a campaign year. Perhaps a time to effect change.  We don’t know the outcome yet of Trump’s fight over impeachment. We don’t have a crystal ball to predict events, but we can look at past performance and make a pretty good guess at our response to them.

Robert Spencer has posted an interesting account of his recent appearance in New Hampshire and his observations on the state of the Republican Party (or “Stupid Party”) there.  Naturally, when word got out that some crazy Republican had the insane idea of inviting a truth teller to his state to address local Republicans all hell broke loose. It is very worth your while to read his article here.  Warning:  it will make you sick.

The reason I want to share this with you is that you need to attend your district conventions (North Dakota) and county caucuses (Minnesota).  You need to not only take a good look at candidates for public office but you need to take a critical look at the people running your party. Hint:  They think it’s their party. Don’t be surprised if you hear echoes of Spencer’s experience. Ask them some really hard questions - like about freedom of speech, about the advisability of confronting lies with truth, about “white privilege” and what to “do” about it.  Smoke them out. I think you will find a lot of what Spencer found in New Hampshire. That was once considered a stalwart, conservative state. Their motto is “Live free or die”. But that was a long time ago, about the time of Concord, I think. They have been avoiding a fight of late, cowering before the tin-pot bullies of the Left, senselessly kowtowing to anything or anyone who is willing to push them around.

It is maybe “New Hampshire Nice”.  People who would rather be considered “nice” than show any resolve to tell the truth or to defend freedom.  Check this out in your own district or county. If you see this don’t YOU be afraid to confront it with some truth.

I have seen the Republican Party disintegrate and slowly cave, like an old barn you see along the road.  Once you see it with the paint peeling. A year later you happen along the same road. Now the paint is peeling a little more and the roof looks a little saggy.  For a year or two more it looks more or less unchanged. Then you drive by and find that the walls have a strange tilt. You have seen this. Finally, you drive down the road and see a pile of timbers.  Think of this as the Republican Party. First you will notice the peeling paint - a fear of using the “wrong words” and “needlessly offending” someone. Then you will begin to see the rest of the rot. Truth, in the end, will not matter anymore.  Political correctness and “nice” will be more important.

When I was fifteen I would see a young Scandinavian-looking guy in a nice business suit stop in and ask for a Nixon campaign button or something - usually a discreet lapel pin.  The people in the headquarters would gasp and try to get him to run for office. It would never in a million years have occurred to them to wonder what his experience was or what principles he espoused.  He just looked right. It was astonishing. Any of the 50-something ladies on the phones would have been a more reliable candidate! Today it would be different. Today’s magazine-cover candidate would be more “diverse”.  But the same principle applies - there is little interest in conservative values and less interest in anyone who would defend them when they are challenged. It never seems to be about substance. Even when Republicans have the urge to stick it to the opposition (and this is rare) it is never about principle.  This is why the Republican Party continues to back up as the Left advances. One thing we know about the Left is that they know what their program is and they will do everything they need to do to advance it.

Please read the article by Spencer (Robert, that is) and watch the video within in.  It might not be too long before the Left, with the help of Republicans, manage to ban it.

As we approach the next election year I hope sincere patriots will stiffen themselves for the fight - it is a fight to preserve our way of life, a life lived in freedom.  We just can’t afford the kind of “leadership” apparent in New Hampshire.
