SALLY MORRIS: ONE MORE THREAT TO OUR ENVIRONMENT
There are a whole lot of reasons to leave carbon dioxide wherever it is produced. We should know, unless we were educated in our public schools in the past two decades, that carbon dioxide (CO2) is absolutely essential to the growth of vegetation (let’s call it “crops” to put it in the monetary perspective). We should also know that it is produced by animal life, including humans and livestock as well as wildlife, and that this is not only normal but necessary to the “circle of life” or the course of nature. Unfortunately, those who would control the world through agencies have lit upon CO2 - a necessary product of life itself and fuel for life itself - and figured that since it’s everywhere it would be great to demonize it so that control could be exerted everywhere. And so it has come to pass. Now, instead of utilizing this fact of nature for our benefit, providing green grass, crops, trees and gardens, we are supposed to “capture” it through advanced technology and force it under pressure into pipelines and thence to some sort of tank in the middle of what the agencies and the experts deem as “nowhere”.
In the present case, “nowhere” is central North Dakota. The ND Public Service Commission has given approval for the laying of 333 miles of this CO2 piping, destined to a storage tank west of Bismarck. Good show. Thanks for giving the public a heads-up on this. It’s not like you didn’t have some existing experiences with ruptured CO2 pipelines here.
This pressurizing of CO2, a normal and safe gas in nature, and not only useful but essential to life itself, causes this normal product to become extremely hazardous. Some of these hazards include:
-
Increasing seismic activity underground. So far earthquakes in our region have been all but non-existent. I suppose we could change that. None of our infrastructure was designed to accommodate shifting earth, but what the hey - let's all embark on an exciting new adventure.
-
Leakage from pipes. It happens. If and when it does it can contaminate not only the air but also even our water.
-
Waste of energy - the “capture” of normal, innocent CO2 takes enormous amounts of energy. If we burn up our energy in order to “capture” ordinary, harmless CO2 and pressurize it, pumping it through fragile pipelines to dangerous “storage” tanks is just plain stupid. It also required enormous amounts of water, which in western ND can sometimes be scarce enough.
-
This is a total boondoggle - CO2 presents no threat to our environment. It is as normal as rain. It is as normal as oxygen. In normal concentrations and in its natural condition, CO2 is a healthy and necessary part of our environment, not a hazard.
This whole thing is part of the phony Green scam. And as with most of these scams there are lots of layers of victims. The first is the taxpayer. Then we have the property owners whose land will be confiscated by private companies for this nonsense. Then we have those who will suffer the effects when these go wrong. This should be stopped in North Dakota (and everywhere else it may go). Contact the ND Public Service Commission and let them know you object. Let your state senators and representatives know. Check into this yourself and see what you find. Tell me if you think this is a great thing for America and for North Dakota . . . or if it’s just a great thing for someone’s pocketbook.
And one more thing: before you think that everything will be all right, consider this. FEMA, for what little it was ever worth, is out of money. SBA is out of money. Our money is over in Ukraine. It’s in Gaza. It’s not there if you, your ranch or farm or your community is destroyed by this. Be ready. RFK, Jr., has a very interesting little presentation on this right here. Please take a few precious moments to watch it.
