SALLY MORRIS:  PLAYING BY THE RULES

Our Republic works only if everyone plays by the rules. Maybe this sounds simplistic to you. Maybe it sounds like the teacher in the schoolyard. But this is a vital part of living in freedom. It is part and parcel of exactly everything to do with our entire way of life. Unless we accept the results of elections, the findings of juries, and carefully observe the rules and laws, we no longer have a representative government of a free people. We are no longer free if we ignore the rules.

If the local sheriff decides that the law no longer applies to him your rights just expired. If you walk into a court of law and the judge ejects all of your witnesses and abuses your lawyer your rights are gone. If your city council and your mayor get together in private and decide what they are going to do with your property or your tax dollars – you find that you don’t have any rights.

It’s not a simple matter of putting something over on the average citizen – it is a serious matter of observing the technicalities of laws and rules. It is not a casual matter to abbreviate or step around these laws and rules. It’s not going to be okay to regard them as unimportant details. This is unacceptable at the precinct level. It is no less egregious in the “people’s House” - Congress.

Yet this is exactly what is happening in Washington this week. Democrats are behaving like mad dogs. They are putting the boot of totalitarianism directly on the throat of the process, of the people, of America. I am on record as no big fan of Donald Trump. I think we could have done better. That’s not the point. He has been elected. He is holding the office, duly elected to the office, of the Presidency of the United States. From the moment Trump was declared the winner of the 2016 election Democrats have been working to overthrow the government, in effect, to nullify the election of 2016.

The House Judiciary Committee is in charge of this. In their office they are actively abusing the Constitution, the Executive and Republican members of their own House. The rules don’t matter to these people. Evidence doesn’t matter, nor the quality of that evidence. This Committee is admitting hearsay testimony which is slipped through by means of an ex-post-facto regulation change (also unconstitutional). They refuse to produce witnesses requested by the Republicans.

One of the things we are learning is the extent of the Deep State. We are learning that our private information is not private. Telephone numbers and phone calls are traced and published. This is police-state stuff. We are paying for all of this. In every way.

What is happening in Congress right now is, in effect, an attempted coup d’etat. We go to movies like JFK and we are horrified at the shadow government which acted in place of the elected, visible one, the legitimate one. What is going on now is the same thing.

I am also not a fan of Mark Levin. I have not been reluctant to criticize him and many of his positions. But I am going to send you a link in case you missed his broadcast yesterday. He and his guest, Alan Dershowitz, along with some crucial sound bites from the proceedings, make quite clear that our Congress is operating outside the bounds of law and totally outside of the Constitution. Here is a link. I advise you listen if you have not already heard it.
