SALLY MORRIS: PREDICTIONS OF 2020 A YEAR LATER
I do not take pleasure in telling people, “I told you so.” It’s really an empty expression and also an empty kind of satisfaction. It means that something has failed, and that one has failed in warning of it. Last year, in March of 2020, I was thinking about the dilemma faced by those whose work was interrupted or terminated in many cases by the ill-conceived government response to the little virus we called “covid-19”. Wherever there was a choice in policy the worst possible one was taken. The Trump administration was a disaster on this, despite its successes in so many other areas.
By now we can see that the government responses and initiatives taken in answer to this one little virus have overshadowed everything else in human history. The mistakes made by Trump and Congress, by myriad governors and unelected, “public health” officials have literally destroyed the world’s economies while destroying and maiming human life. Among its casualties: independent, home-owned businesses and all the creative energy they generate; people’s health - through multiple systems of punishment (from lockdowns leading to despair, substance abuse, domestic abuse, loss of mental health - sometimes leading to suicide, loss of care for other medical issues such as cancer or other diseases to the development of a nano-tech delivery system parading as a “vaccine” which kills those who take it rather than protect them). Perhaps the worst cost of all has been our civil liberties, our law, our Constitution, which has for well over 200 years protected us from tyranny. That’s all gone now. A brittle, yellowed page of our country’s history - for which generations fought and died, all gone because Trump, Biden and a feckless Congress cared more about headlines than about their oath to uphold the Constitution. It was all expendable after all. Life has become so miserable for so many, whether due to these economic hardships, the destruction of their children’s dreams and futures, and their basic health, that death no longer seems like much of a threat.
But back to my point. We all know that first Trump and then Biden have betrayed America with these “covid” policies. Now the chickens, as old Jeremiah Wright would have said, have come home to roost. The unreasonable, unworkable and plain wrong moratorium on collecting rent from tenants is ending and now these tenants are facing eviction - just about when I figured they would, in the fall, only a year later. Because, guess what? A landlord who has invested in a property in order to make it available to rent to someone who seeks a home cannot afford to run a charity. He has bills due - no one gave HIM a “moratorium” on his mortgage. So he’s unable to continue in the business of providing homes for people. I wrote about this. I have been a tenant and a landlord. Landlords have many problems - it is a challenging, although sometimes an invigorating, profession. It can be a very beneficial one, obviously. But it can never continue as a free service. I wrote in March of 2020 that instead of give-aways and welfare programs, instead of letting landlords bear the entire load of lockdowns, the federal government should do something else - something far more creative.
I suggested that the federal government stay all loan collections, whether on yachts or vacation trips or medical bills or mortgages or cars, all of them, and pay these loans to the lenders until people were back to work and able to begin paying them again. This would be in the general form of a loan to lenders, to be paid back at the back end of the life of the loan. (One person whose help I sought in pursuing this idea was Senator Kevin Cramer. Needless to say he couldn't care less, having been absorbed by the statist contingent. I heard nothing from him, either publicly or personally but crickets.) My figuring was off by a year (so far) because a year ago I still believed that the government more or less wanted to solve the problem. What I did not see in March of 2020 was that there was an intention to force-march us all into serfdom by 2021. The virus was in reality a ruse designed to force us into acceptance of a poisonous “vaccine” which was not intended to relieve illness at all but rather to deliver into our physical bodies the mechanism for control, including instant kill. A year and a half ago this would have seemed like one of the movie scripts tossed in the garbage in the movie “Argo”. It was implausible, evil geniuses are not that smart and people aren’t that dumb. Well, they are and they are. We are where we are because of it.
We are no closer to defeating “covid”, the little figment of public imagination - the flu dressed up in a top hat and opera cape, with a twisted, twirly moustache - in fact, everything “science” has done for the past year has exacerbated it. We have now “vaccinated” millions of Americans with a toxic, a lethal substance that has absolutely nothing to do with fighting disease and is killing people or destroying their lives while the virus basically says, “nya, nya, nya-nya” and even flourishes. The “vaccines” are proving to be what they are - worthless and harmful.
This isn’t stopping the government. This week it was announced that forced vaccination is on the horizon and drawing near. All federal employees are being ordered to be vaccinated or “tested” - which is, in the opinion of many experts, “vaccinated” and certainly risky and harmful. The “tests” themselves have just been debunked by the authorities themselves and are to be retired in December! (One wonders why the delay in throwing them out if they are already known to be useless. Why wait until December? If we wait we will learn some reason.)
I have written very little this summer because it has seemed a total waste of time. People have decided they will follow their leader, whether Trump or Biden, like the little automotons they are, Democrat Party bots and the cultish followers of Donald Trump. Both camps are running around getting “fully vaccinated” and so proud of it. The rest of us are shunned, othered, we are pariahs - outlaws now. Just for not wanting to be medically violated and poisoned.
There never was a plan for recovery. That’s the news today. Not under Trump, certainly not under Biden. There is a price we pay when we elect someone on the basis of celebrity, a cult icon, instead of a principled conservative thinker. The conservative thinker is not usually very glamorous. Not a lot of pizzazz. The people chose instead, in 2016, to put forward a television personality, a flamboyant professional millionaire with a flashy, covergirl wife. We can’t elect such a man and expect the behavior of a mature adult. We should expect such a man to be easily influenced by another empty celebrity such as Bill Gates. And so he was. Gates and Anthony Fauci and the dowdy “scarf lady”, Dr. Deborah Birx, all had more influence with this shallow Trump presidency than our Constitution, the people, or just common sense.
I guess I could say “I told you so” about both the economic plan I outlined back in March, 2020, as well as my warnings in 2016 against putting an unprincipled airhead in the White House, but as I have said, it’s an empty feeling, not satisfaction. And now it looks too late to fix things. It will only get worse now.
