SALLY MORRIS: PROJECTION
We’ve all been hearing the term “gas-lighting” a lot recently. We are being told a lot of things that are not true, we are living life right now in a “fun house” or hall of mirrors. Nothing is what it seems. I’m not talking here at the moment about the various theories as to the real whereabouts of Joe Biden and his immediate entourage, the strange effects seen in videos purportedly filmed in the White House, the photographs which seem to show a Joe Biden with different features from the old Joe Biden, the weirdness of Biden shuffling through the door guarded by two Marines in uniform and responding to his earpiece prompt by saying, as he passes them, “Salute the Marines.,” the oddity of lights out every night at 11:00 sharp. I mean, there could be some sort of explanation for all of this. Our inclination is to look for these explanations, although Occam’s Razor is nowhere to be found. However, this is not the kind of "projection" I’m concerned with here.
I’m thinking of the many evils which have been ascribed to Donald Trump. The more one thinks about them, the more obvious it becomes that these evils are actually attributes of the left. I don’t even think we should be calling them “Democrats'' anymore. They are not Democrats in the sense of, say, Harry Truman or Hubert Humprey - true patriots who loved and believed in America, whether they were right on policy and ideas or not. Today's Democrats are something else altogether. For one thing, they don’t care to live among the rest of us or like the rest of us. They love to make rules for us . . . but they have greater needs than we are perceived to have. They need to be able to fly to Europe if they want to. John Kerry would have the rest of us ride a once-a-week bus to the next town, or bike there, but he - he needs to be able to get around. He accomplishes nothing, but that isn’t really the point, is it? Nancy Pelosi runs around in ChinaTown and then says we are to all stay home indefinitely. But, hey, she looks awful and needs her hair done. She gets it done - no mask, mind you - in a shop that is closed to the rest of the clientele. Then she blasts the shop owner because the photo got out. Now she has, all on her own, without discussion in the House, installed metal detectors. She’s not afraid of BLM. She never has a harsh word for them. Antifa? Well, the left and Biden (whatever he is) says that’s just an “idea” - you can’t really stop an “idea” with metal detectors. She did this as an insult to those who support Trump and/or at least asked for an investigation into charges of election fraud. Guess what? There is another entrance which is not equipped with Pelosi’s insulting metal detectors - the Speaker’s Lobby entrance. Louis Gohmert used this entrance and was fined $5,000 for the “offense”. Yet she uses it herself against her own “rules”. This is what elitists do. The now-disgraced Dr. Deborah Birx is another example.
But what about the projection? If we consider how Trump has been portrayed by the media and the left (but I repeat myself) we can see the following examples:
-
Trump has been accused of trying to “steal the election” because of a phone call he made to the secretary of state of Georgia regarding the shocking numbers of illegal votes. The essence of this phone call was referred to in Mike Lindell’s recent documentary, “Absolute Proof”. The call was recorded (secretly) and then published, presented as though it were some sort of arm-twisting to “change” votes, when, in fact, it was an honest effort to get the state to reject some illegal votes - votes admittedly illegal in Georgia. The phone call did no good, unless by “good” you mean a nasty and inaccurate representation presented to the public as a “scandal”. But we know who was actually stealing the 2020 election. And it wasn’t Trump. And when he states what is obvious truth - that the election was rigged and must be investigated - he is accused of trying to “overturn” the election!
-
Trump and everyone who supported him are “racists”. Oh, yeah? Really? Wasn’t it Biden who has repeatedly expressed his blatant racism? He didn’t want his kids in some sort of mixed-race “jungle” for school. “If you aren’t voting for me you ain't Black!” Meanwhile, guess who was tallying up huge numbers of minorities crossing over to vote for him? (Hint: it wasn’t Biden.) Trump increased by 100s of thousands the numbers of minority voters who had turned their noses up at the likes of Bush, of McCain, of Romney. His policies have greatly benefited all Americans, not specifically one race or another, but all Americans, working class and middle class people. Why has this worked so well? Because he didn’t target special groups. His policies were truly colorblind. John Kennedy put it this way: "A rising tide lifts all boats." What is good for Americans is good for America.

At a rally of his supporters, gathered to express their views to the assembled Congress and Senate regarding an investigation of wrongdoing in the election, Trump said this:
"Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!". He had spent previous weeks promoting the Saving America rally. Trump later tweeted at 3:13 p.m., "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!". While he was still addressing this crowd, talking about his administration’s many accomplishments as well as the contested elections in some states, a mob led by Antifa/BLM was breaking into the Capitol. When the violence became known to him, Trump took to Twitter and Youtube to request that everyone go home in peace."
For this his Twitter account was cut off. His message was taken down. One might well wonder why. It is interesting that Trump, knowing that Antifa might show up where his supporters were gathered, although not necessarily expecting them to be impersonating his followers, had offered Mayor Bowser law enforcement support not once, but twice. It was twice refused. Not exactly the behavior of someone plotting an overthrow of the government, not the actions of an "insurrectionist". It seems odd indeed, when we consider the summer of violence from coast to coast, violence which left our cities in ashes and rubble, businesses and lives destroyed along with our monuments and public buildings. All summer, Trump offered reinforcements to the cities under attack - all of them run by Democrat machines - and all of them turned him down until most of the damage was done. Only in the last few weeks, in fact, has the mayor of Portland finally cried uncle and admitted he couldn’t cope. He just learned that Antifa and BLM hate him just as much as they hate Trump. None other than Vice President Kamala Harris said in a televised interview on a major network that the rioting not only would continue, but it should continue. Congressman Maxine Waters ordered partisans to confront people who supported other candidates and ideas and tell them they weren’t welcome - anywhere - in restaurants, gas stations, wherever you could find them - make a scene. Congressman Cory Booker told people to “get in the faces” of members of Congress to “go to the Hill”. Senator Tim Kaine, former candidate for Vice President (Hilary Clinton) proposed that the Senate censure Trump for “his part” in the “Capitol riot”, seemingly forgetting his earlier called on his supporters to literally “fight in the streets” with Trump supporters - his son, an Antifa activist, was arrested. But it is Trump who is called an “insurrectionist”. A coup d’etat or putsch is action taken to actually overthrow the government. It is what happens when an election is stolen, in fact. If there was “insurrection”, it was by the machinery which put Joe Biden in office.

Trump is labeled an “autocrat”, a dictator. It is difficult to recall a president in our history since Calvin Coolidge who has exercised less authority over the citizens of the United States. It is true that we have been living under a dictatorship, or rather several petty dictatorships. Make no mistake, these local and state dictatorships are every bit as damaging to our lives and our freedom as any other. Who is fining businesses for simply operating legally? Who is trying to coerce everyone into giving up their families, their jobs, their education, their futures, every pleasure? Who is trying to force everyone into unhealthy, even dangerous face masks? Most of the dictators and autocrats who are making our lives miserable are state governors, city councils and mayors. And the majority of them happen to be Democrats, but whatever their party affiliation or lack thereof, they are not Donald Trump. Trump, on the other hand, did two things: first, he strongly encouraged the reopening of our economy so that people could go back to work and school and limit the damage to our country; and second, he did not impose his idea on states’ or cities’ governments - he carefully observed the delineation between the state and federal governments. He could have used the epidemic of COVID flu to seize power over production and other factors but he did not do this and did not even seem so inclined. When violence broke out he offered federal help. When it was refused he stood aside until he got a request, just as he did with the mayor of Washington D.C. two days prior to the January 6 rally. When there appeared to be a need for domestically-produced PPE and ventilators, instead of taking over factories and putting government functionaries in charge - people he could have “done favors for” - he negotiated with auto manufacturers to re-tool to produce ventilators which various governors were screaming for (such as NY’s Cuomo) and with Mike Lindell of My Pillow to set up to produce masks. In no time these needs were filled with a lot to spare. We found out that, just as in “normal” times, free enterprise works without a “dictator”. Now we are seeing what dictators do and how they think. Joe Biden told us we were all in for a “long, dark winter”. He is making good on that. Top-down forcing of dangerous masks for healthy people. He is summarily stopping the construction of pipelines. He is taking down the wall which people wanted to provide some security from illegal aliens, some of them members of very dangerous drug cartels and human trafficking gangs - people who terrorize Americans and are destroying lives. He is giving orders on “racial equity” - another term for Marxism. No Congress needed, no approval of the voters. Next will be his program of totalitarianism on the pretext of “climate change”. Are you getting sick of the lockdowns yet? Want to go back to work, restore your income, live in freedom once again? Or do you want a few more years off? Because Biden’s team has found the opportunities available by deceiving people as to the flu epidemic (even to the point of being able to shut down our entire economy for a year and then force so-called “vaccines” on them which claim that they neither protect us from contracting the disease nor slowing the spread of it. Some vaccine. Oh, but they will be forced on us anyway, despite the likelihood that they will sterilize women, cause brain damage, autoimmune complications and ultimately, death. You can’t just get people to do that by telling them the truth and giving them a choice. Now we can find an excuse to shut things down indefinitely (until the “experts” think the climate is ok again). Who do you think is the “dictator”? Who do you think fits the description of “autocrat”?

Supposedly, Trump got help with his election campaign - presumably including funding - from Russia and Ukraine. He is called out for collusion in the 2016 election. Before he took office Pelosi was working on an impeachment effort, looking for anything. She lit upon the “Russia-gate” idea. Hilary Clinton had set the table for this by hiring Christopher Steele to manufacture a so-called “dossier” to drop the sandbag on him. Her initial reason was actually just to take attention away from the breaking story about her emails. The impeachment came about finally during Trump’s last year in his term - a time when any patriot would have been trying to find ways to help the American people - even to help him to help the people - to recover from the horrific rioting and lockdowns. Imagine if some candidate had decided to impeach FDR in the midst of WWII. No one would have seriously considered this - it would have amounted to sedition. This did not deter Pelosi and her associates, however. Nothing mattered to her but some sort of deranged revenge on Trump. In the event, however, Trump was totally exonerated. On the other hand, Pelosi’s program of persecution of the president was to expose Hilary’s scheme, top to bottom, and incidentally, the unethical, and arguably treasonous behavior of Joe Biden and his son in Ukraine. Later it came out that they were - and to this day remain - in business with the communist government in China. The pieces all begin to fall into place - at the moment China is exerting a huge influence on the Biden presidency.
In nearly every instance of accusation against Mr. Trump, if we actually examine it critically, we find that what he is accused of is part and parcel of what the leadership of the “Democrats” is doing in fact. Usually in real time. Trump is not an insurrectionist. Kamala Harris is. Maxine Waters is. Cory Booker is. Tim Kaine is. A.O.C. is. Many more are on the record. Trump is not a “dictator”. Joe Biden is. His supporters want him to be. He and his organization are, in fact, Marxists. Trump’s entire term was under attack by Pelosi for supposed collusion with foreign governments. This was totally debunked but what did we learn? That Joe Biden and his son, with the apparent accession of then-president Barack Obama, were selling American policy for their own enrichment. And it is continuing today. By their own admission. They made a huge fortune selling out our country. By contrast, it was reported this week that Trump has lost half of his fortune by serving as president. He has donated the presidential salary to charities. He was called a “racist” and yet, he inspired hundreds of thousands of minorities to vote for him and campaign for him. It has been a real phenomenon in the history of the Republican Party. Never since FDR’s first term have we seen a real return of minority voters of all kinds to the standard bearer of the Republican Party. The Party itself may not see this kind of support.
What all of this tells us is that Democrats (at least those who have taken over that party) are doing exactly the thing which they accuse Trump of doing. And Trump is doing none of these things. It’s projection. When we hear these “Democrat” leaders accusing anyone of anything, we should first take a very close look at what they are up to because they are giving us a signal. If they call you a “racist”, it probably means they are racist. If they call someone a “dictator”, it probably means they are acting, or would try to act, as dictators. If they call you an “insurrectionist” look at their camp. It was Antifa who said, “Burn it down!” in the Capitol. It was Antifa, which she supports when they destroy our homes and businesses, which caused A.O.C. to pretend to be frightened. She played it so well. And she wasn’t even there. When someone is accused of collusion with foreign governments or with “stealing” an election, the accusers are actually telling us what they are doing.
