SCAM ALERT!!!

A friend called me this morning to tell me that he had received a request via an email account and using MY NAME to request that he send a $200 check to ebay “for my nephew”.  

I have never asked anyone to do anything like this and would not.  However, times are weird and some people might have greater need than ever before.  It is easy to believe that someone could have need.  

I HAVE NOT MADE ANY SUCH REQUEST.  SOMEONE IS USING MY NAME TO GET PEOPLE TO SEND THEM MONEY.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANY ACCOUNT ANYWHERE ON MY BEHALF!  THIS IS A SCAM.  

Please verify personally with the person making a request - it is very easy for someone to use the internet for criminal purposes.  Please let me know if you have received any request "from me".  Thanks!  Stay safe!
