Truth is always worth pursuing.  In the case of the latest pandemic of Chinese origin, the COVID-19 coronavirus, it seems on the surface that this is like closing the barn door after the horse has left the building.  But it is important for us to gain a thorough understanding of the culture which has produced it. The fact is, had we taken a greater interest in this after the SARS epidemic we might have been able to prevent this devastating pandemic which has destroyed the economy of the entire world.  

It goes without saying that we will get no help in this quest for truth from the government of China.  If any truth teller raises his foolish head in China he is quickly made to disappear along with his tweets and his evidence.  In fact, lest there be any confusion on this point, the government of the People’s Republic (let’s call it what it is - Red China) has said so in so many words, making it crystal clear that there will be no information about this virus or its origins in the bat caves and laboratories of China, escaping to the west.  This ought to set the stage perfectly for a documentary produced by The Epoch Times, the most reliable source of information we have about what is actually happening inside the prison that is Red China today.  If you have not already seen this documentary it is well worth the 56 minutes or so it takes. You will get a clearer view of the political climate which has spawned this disaster.  You might as well - it looks like it will be some time before we can earn a living again.  

It is distasteful to most of us to dwell on the origins of something like this - all we really want is to be able to go back to work, open up our shops for business and celebrate the spring.  But unless we want to set ourselves up for the next attack, for that is what this is, we need to understand how this happened to us. Some of us will be more fortunate than others - some of us will not lose loved ones or become ill ourselves, but for many this will be a life-changing event.  If we ignore the causes we will get and perhaps deserve the next attack. So I do urge you to become very proactive. Watch the documentary. Do some searching for yourself (although be forewarned that you won’t get anything of truth or substance from the government of Red China). And then take some action.  I would suggest you contact your representatives in Washington and demand that we stop funding anything that goes to Red China. The United States government has contributed financially ($3.7 million U.S.) to the very lab where this virus was created.  This was not only participation in cruelty to animals but has also been a factor in the disease which is destroying us now.  

We need to tell them that although President Trump is on the right track in defunding the WHO, he does not go quite far enough.  We should defund the U.N., its parent organization. We should retain only our Security Council seat and that only so we have the heads-up on what criminal mischief the organization is up to.  

We should tell them that it is now time to admit our error in recognizing communist usurpers who style themselves “the government of the People’s Republic of China” at the expense of a legitimate, democratically elected and reliable ally, The Republic of China, located in Taiwan.  We have gained nothing, the free world has gained nothing, from our relationship with Red China. They have exploited our efforts at friendly, normal relations by abusing their own people shamefully and by deceiving and damaging the rest of the nations throughout the world, including their trading partners, nations like Italy.  They are selling defective equipment to them now.

We need to tell our representatives that it is now time to ban imports from mainland China.  It is time to restart our own manufacturing. Until we do we should import necessities only from countries other than Red China.  Of special concern is our child-like dependence on Red China for essential pharmaceutical products. This is unconscionable. The greed of our manufacturing companies became manifest in their preferring the slave labor of Chinese work camps to paying living wages to American workers.  This is the payout. We just saw 3M argue that they “had to” send their face masks to China (which then resells them at a mark-up) because they feared that China would “nationalize” them. In effect, they have already done so when they can commandeer the products. The existence of such a relationship has profound dangers for our own freedoms because these companies act as agents within our country for these foreign and hostile powers.  It might explain why our government has been so lax with Red China until now. We need to stop this and the only way that would be effective or adequate would be to ban Chinese imports. Let your representatives know.  

It is useless to try to not buy products from China when everything on our shelves including packaging itself is made in China.  This has gone too far for the marketplace alone to handle it, regardless of our resolve. We must now act more aggressively to stop this.

I hope you will watch the documentary - it is brief but riveting.  Then, while you are thinking about the evil in the Red Chinese system, make some phone calls, write some letters.  Let people who make policy know where you stand. There is no choice now. If this pandemic does not destroy America and our freedoms, the next one - a given - will.
