SALLY MORRIS: SHOULD WE TALK ABOUT DRAINING THE SWAMP AGAIN?
There is a lot of disgust in America today with the destruction of our Bill of Rights - especially our First Amendment, without which we cannot claim to be a “free” country. This disgust is more than justified. But the key to fixing this is to find the root of the problem, the individuals who are in positions of power who are destroying our rights.
We often point to people like Anthony Fauci, or Bill Gates, or the HHS or the other agencies and departments which are in positions where they can wield enormous power over our media and thus stifle criticism.
One person who has been outspoken on vaccine safety and has stood up to a lot of powerful opposition to his exercise of his First Amendment rights, is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. He has a lot to say about how our vaccine safety regulations were dissolved and our free speech has been curtailed and information denied us. Denial of our right to free speech and exchange of information has resulted in terrible hardships and even death to many Americans. It is not without harm. That’s why free speech is our First Amendment.
As the campaign season shifts into gear for next year’s election we need to get the truth at long last. About Fauci, about Pfizer, about our government agencies and their heads, about the vaccine and the virus itself. It matters. This is, perhaps, our last chance to return our country to what it has historically been - a free country. The pathway is not through Donald Trump, unfortunately. Unfortunately - because he seems to have a substantial lead in the polls.
Don’t get me wrong. Trump deserves his due process. He is being targeted for political reasons by the Justice Department. The FBI is corrupt and has been weaponized. It was weaponized against Trump even during his administration - what does that say about Trump’s abilities to run government? Everyone has his strengths and weaknesses and special talents. Running a government as an executive is not one of Trump’s. I have said he has displayed the most horrible judgment in appointments. We can’t deny this. He may have his reasons. It may not be that he is stupid. It may be that he has his debts. We need to uncover these before we make a decision about putting him back in office.
If we don’t look at the truth when it is offered, when the evidence is presented to us, then we are squandering our rights. We have been denied information for three years. Now it is coming out. If we ignore it, that is our mistake and we have no one else to blame. It is disappointing, to be sure, when our heroes come up looking like jerks, but when they do or when the evidence suggests it, we need to face it - or challenge it with more facts and more truth. We can’t just ignore it because it doesn’t fit our narrative. That is what the Left does. It’s not what we should be doing. So, look at the evidence. Look at the truth.
We have a choice to make. We need to be circumspect and we need to be well-informed. We can’t go around blaming some boogeyman for our pain and our peril. These guys were all in these positions for some reason. If Fauci was in charge we need to ask why. He lied to us. He manipulated us. He destroyed many of us. He harmed all of us. Why was he there? And why, at the very end of his term, did Trump award him? It begs the question, what would Trump be doing if he had prevailed in his efforts to straighten out the election in 2020? If he was already praising and rewarding Fauci for his “service” during the pandemic, what would he have done next? Kicked him out? Not very likely. In fact, things might even be worse than they are, hard as that is to believe.
Now we are seriously considering restoring this guy, Trump, to office? Why? I would be the last to claim that the 2020 election was valid. It wasn’t. We aren’t able at this point to go back in time. Yes, we were all disenfranchised in that election - myself as well. I resent this and feel determined that it should not happen again. Hopefully we can stop it if someone tries it again. Trump won that election and should have been sworn in. But if he had, what would he have been doing? He is unrepentant about his promotion of these vaccines. Why? Is it his personality quirk that he can never admit a mistake? Or is it something even worse than that?
Whatever it is, we must have no more of it. We must seek and then face the truth, even if our heroes are not flattered by it. Trump facilitated all of the worst aspects of the pandemic scare - the vaccines, the shutdowns, everything. It was all disastrous for America. He’s not sorry about it, either. He still brags about it. He still supports Fauci. But he also will not face the fact that he failed to clean up that ol’ swamp. The same corrupt people were there - or worse ones - at the end of his term as were there with Obama.
Instead of fixing the mess in our bureaucracy - which has been a tyrant, destroying our freedom - he fixed things for his donors and his friends. Either that or he is not nearly as smart as he and his fans think he is. Personally, I think he runs government the same way he runs business enterprises, without regard to protection of our rights. Maybe it works in that arena. It simply does not work in government. His talent does not lie in governing a free country.
Trump, for all his loud talk, supported the Clintons when he could have opposed them. He paid $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation to bribe Hillary to attend his wedding. Who does that? He once said on a talk show that if he ever ran for president it would be as a Democrat. I believe that. He certainly ran the government that way. He did not eliminate any of the overgrowth. He didn’t drain any of the swamp. He betrayed all of us with the medical establishment and Fauci. He did that. He can’t be allowed to hide from it. Maybe you can support that. I can’t.
We might get stuck with Trump on the ticket again. If that happens we will have to figure out whether we can support him at that point. We should look carefully first, though, before we jump, and make sure that he’s what we really want again. We can count on another major threat, whether it’s another virus or some climate “emergency” or some hazardous waste emergency, or whatever. We know there will be an event which will be weaponized to take away our freedom. That’s how it happens - the Left never lets a crisis go to waste. When that happens, who do we want leading us? Someone who will facilitate their takeover? Or maybe someone who will actually challenge it?
