SALLY MORRIS:  STEALTH JIHAD IN SUPPORT OF VIOLENT JIHAD

Last week we considered the phenomenon of stealth jihad - hijra - and its eroding effect on our freedoms and our culture in America.  It is my intention to further look at the more glaring and obvious damage of violent jihad waged in our country - events such as the destruction of the World Trade Towers in 2001, the attack by “one of our own” jihadis, Nidal Hassan at Ft. Hood, the San Bernardino shooting, the attack at the Orlando club, the recent episode in Pensacola at the naval base.  These are serious issues which tend to underlie the other, “stealth” threat - in other words, the stealth version is the first offer, the back-up hammer is the violent version.

They both present a real threat to Americans and our culture and our way of life - a way of life which has been beneficial to us and a source of happy accomplishment for more than two centuries.  It is not the only damaging element. We have done damage ourselves in pursuing two-income families with our children farmed out to daycares and preschools, we have allowed corrupt, anti-American, anti-patriotic people to control our institutions of education.  We have drifted away from our previous Christian (and Jewish) religious observations. All of these things contributed to our support of our Constitution and our valuing of our liberty.

But I think events around the world merit another look today before we move on from the “stealth” jihad to the violent jihad.  As an example of how our First Amendment is threatened by this development in our country, we can look at other countries which have shared most of our values of enlightenment, of freedom and of Western values and philosophy.  We can look, for example, in France. There, a 16-year-old girl tweeted some fairly harsh criticism of Islam.  A young Muslim man was “hitting on her” and she responded with a vehement rejection.  She now dares not attend school, she is living under a death threat for her criticism.  Just as with Charlie Hebdo, she is blamed for the threats. She was chastised for not showing respect.  It’s okay for someone to make credible death threats but it’s not okay to criticize. The girl, in fact, was initially charged with a “hate crime”!  (This charge has been dropped.) The fact is that people who migrate to free societies cannot accept criticism. If they can’t deal with it they should stay in Morocco or Syria or Pakistan, where they won’t hear criticism.

Meanwhile, back in the U.K., a Muslim described by his own counsel as “a pathetic little man” plotted to drive his van into an “evil” Gay parade, attack Madame Tussaud’s wax museum and a double-decker tourist bus.  The prosecutor for the Crown didn’t blame his obvious in-breeding, or his lack of I.Q. or his insanity this time.  This time the fault lay with forthright critic of Islam, Tommy Robinson - who was nowhere near the situation - because this pathetic little man was influenced by Robinson’s characterization of Islam.  He evidently took it to heart. Never mind the many sermons he drank in of Anwar Awlaki, a terrorist so vicious that even Obama had to act to take him out. But are you seeing a pattern here? The thing that is truly frightening here is not just the violent jihad, but even more so the stealth jihad - the jihad waged by the so-called authorities who blame the victims or those who have spoken out.  When Tommy Robinson is blamed and Anwar Awlaki is off the hook we can see the damage.

In Canada, conservative journalist Ezra Levant discovered that Omar Kadr (you may recall he was the terrorist who was sent from Guantanamo to serve time in Canada, got out of jail, sued the Canadian government and was awarded $10 million) - who was on a “no-fly” list due to his terrorism, was on his flight.  He attempted to question him and the police there threatened to arrest him on the spot. It was okay for a terrorist on a “no-fly” list to be on the plane, but not for Ezra Levant, a peaceful journalist who had a reasonable question, to confront him. Levant was threatened with arrest and Kadr went smiling on his way.  He got away with another hit on the West!

We have a serious problem when we admit into our country people whose culture and “religion” do not permit criticism or free speech.   In America we see much of the same kind of bias against our own citizens when they come up against an aggressive immigrant population. There are numerous cases which have made news, but here is a very recent one, the case of Ken Evseroff, a veteran cameraman who was fired for having re-tweeted a meme that had already been headline news in September of 2019.  It will be familiar to you - it was when Ilhan Omar said that in 2001 “some people did something.” For re-tweeting that remark of Omar’s a Muslim employee lodged a complaint and he was summarily fired.  He had been on the job for some 20 years. She was a recent employee. This is now labeled “hate” - not her brutish reaction, but his reasonable re-tweeting of a revealing (already widely published) comment by a member of Congress.  He is not shrinking from it, however. He is fighting back. We will have a chance to see how the courts look at this kind of obvious abuse.

Stealth jihad is an important part of the conquest of the West.  It comes in with the supposedly non-violent jihadis from Bangladesh, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan or other such places.  We tolerate their “sensitivity”. We allow them to shut down our discussion of important issues. We promote them because they are immigrants, rather than because of their merit.  We step aside for them, we try to accommodate them, to “understand them” at their so-called “welcome” events. We blame ourselves for their dysfunction in our society and attempt to “correct” ourselves rather than those who don’t want to accept our way of life or our laws and customs.  We teach their customs in our schools, we eagerly accept a station below theirs in society. We generally have internalized some kind of belief that they are “better” because they are foreign. I’m open to other explanations, of course. But this is observable.

The fact is that the stealth jihad you see around you everyday - just open your eyes and recognize it - is there in support of the violent jihad.   It is a teenage girl’s fault if her criticism of Islam results in her death. It is Tommy Robinson’s fault because he has exposed the reality of the Koran’s doctrines, when an acolyte of Anwar Awlaki decides to kill.  We have seen it throughout Europe - if someone publishes a cartoon it's his fault if he is murdered. If someone makes a movie that does not praise, but criticizes the reality of Islam and is murdered, it’s his fault, not the murderer’s.  If someone calls out a violation of a no-fly list at an airport, it is he, not the violator, who is threatened with arrest. As we see our “authorities” siding with the wrong-doers, the violators, we are witnessing the effects of stealth jihad.  This is what is truly chilling, the betrayal of our citizens by those whose job it is to protect us. It is every bit as dangerous to our freedom, perhaps more so, than the violent kind. Tomorrow we’ll consider the violent jihad.

Update:  This was reported on February 12, 2020.  It is an excellent example of what is meant by stealth jihad - the violent jihad is rape; the stealth jihad is the way in which the courts have dealth with the rapist.
