SALLY MORRIS:  TIME FOR THE REVOLUTIONARY ACT!

“In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”  George Orwell

We are past Orwell’s nightmare now.

Hans Christian Andersen told us the story of the little boy who told the whole village the truth:  that the Emperor had no clothes.  Lucky for him he lived in a totalitarian empire ruled by at least a modicum of common sense.  Had he lived in America of today he might have been right and the people might have conceded that, but the government would have seen to it that he was never heard from again and the crafty fake tailors would have hung onto their highly-paid plum  jobs.

Orwell was concerned with telling the truth and not lying.  He wasn’t talking about being forced to lie.  We have rapidly and seamlessly moved (no pun - really) from blatant bias in the press to censorship to forced speech in America.  Not only would our Founding Fathers never have believed it, neither would King George III.  Nuts as he was, he would never have thought he could get away with forcing the people to tell lies or sign false declarations  to prop up his shaky administration.  Yet here we are.  In a story reported in The Geller Report this week, we learn that U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and MSNBC News Analyst, Glenn Kirschner, is now demanding that American businesses sign a pledge stating that the 2020 presidential election was “legitimate”.  But that’s only part of it.  Businesses must also stop funding any who disagree with this premise - which includes some 150 Republicans.  Of course any who declined to vote to certify the phony election will be boycotted and banned from receiving contributions.

It is taking time to pick up steam.  Most of those who have signed onto this pledge to lie about the election are small mom-and-pop businesses.  We should find out who they are in our communities and boycott them.  They won’t be around that long anyway - mom-and-pop businesses are no longer wanted by the people who plan our lives.  To the extent that we can encourage them by eliminating these craven business owners, I’m willing to help out.  It's one thing if a business owner wants to freely express an independent opinion - no problem there.  But to sign a pledge?  How Soviet.

This is one of the principles which launched Jordan Peterson’s career, taking him from his position as an unglamorous college professor to the most followed proponent of Western philosophy in the world today.  In his case it was “preferred pronouns”.  He refused to submit to laws which required that he read minds and supply made-up pronouns which he divined were preferred by confused college students and other people.  He maintains that “compelled speech”, as he put it, interferes with one’s freedom of thought.  If we cannot speak words eventually we cannot think with them.  Our thoughts become controlled by controlling speech.  It is bad enough to attempt to stop thought - one might argue it is worse to try to force thoughts not one’s own.

We opened the door to this long ago.  The monster has just wandered in.  He smelled the acquiescence to censorship and cancel culture and couldn’t resist.

We are not even allowed to question the election result, despite clear and convincing evidence of blatant fraud.  There is no debate in America today.  There is forced unison.

We will not be allowed to argue the First Amendment in opposition to media censorship.

We will “do as we are told” and not say out loud what we think about vaccinations which we know are dangerous, unproven, experimental and unnecessary.  If we violate this rule we will be deleted and banned.

We will mouth the official narrative, including false COVID test results and phony death numbers for COVID and we will stifle any expression leaning toward doubt as to the vaccines.  IF we refuse to go along - we'll be deleted and banned.

We will not stand up for the Second Amendment as this administration guts our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

We will not refer to the scandal at our southern border as a “crisis”.  It is merely a “challenge”, even though 700 human beings are crammed into facilities meant to house 80, according to Senator Lankford (oops - guess he’s on the banned list now, too).

We will not argue against Pete Buttagieg’s insane proposal that we be taxed for every mile we drive just because it will shut down many more businesses that have been surviving by delivering goods and services, especially during the COVID “crisis” that we may no longer call phony.  We must accede to a "climate crisis" we also know is phony.

We will repeat, in sing-song fashion, whatever it is that we are being told to say.  Censorship is old hat now.  We no longer need it.  The chorus of yay-sayers will just drown out the kid who called the Emperor out for running around in the buff.

Here’s a question.  What do you call someone who demands you do something you know is immoral?  Immoral - and a lie?
