SALLY MORRIS:  TODAY IT IS TIME FOR ACTION

I’m fine with being the “voice in the wilderness” when it comes to bringing you my often dissenting opinions, but I will admit it is really nice to have company sometimes.  Today I had the opportunity to listen to an important podcast aired here.  Local activist David Waterman and Dr. Jean Gullicks provided a wealth of information and a lively discussion via gfbestsource.com.

I strongly urge you to listen to the entire podcast.  It’s fascinating to hear the stories - most of them regarding local services (and non-services).

Listen.  We are in a lot of trouble in America today.  In Grand Forks today.  It’s not a distant place or a distant future we are talking about.  Censorship is blinding the public to the information which will powerfully - and permanently - affect your life and your children’s lives.

If you think you can wait and be patient and normality will inevitably return, you are very, very wrong.  There is only one way to bring back our normal way of life - our health, our economy, our family life, our social life, our cultural life - and that is to fight for your life.  Because that is what it is.  If you think we can live out our lives in the half-light of these shutdowns, masks and artificial distancing, you can count on a lot more suicides, drug addiction, poverty and want in a climate of spiritual void.  If that is what you want, you can always have that.  The masks are available, you can stand six, eight or any number of feet away from the next person.  If you don’t want to continue working or running your business, that, too, is up to you.  But it is immoral to demand that others conform to this bizarre and self-defeating lifestyle.  It is absolutely wrong to continue to put our kids through this, warping their personalities and limiting their potential.

                                          BAND PRACTICE

Are you okay with THIS as the "new normal"?

Listen to the whole thing and then TAKE ACTION!  What can you do?  First, share this with everyone you know - including the people who disagree with you.  Especially with those who disagree with you.  Then ask them to join YOU in writing to your North Dakota Senate members - every one of them, not just the one from your district, and the members of the Minnesota House of Representatives, go to your school board meetings (if they don’t hold live sessions anymore call each member, give them your opinion and then write to them.  Make sure these people know you are holding them responsible for knowing what you are telling them.  Talk to your city council members and your mayor and write to them - again, emphasize that you are holding them responsible.  Someone needs to be responsible!  Talk to the management of local and regional chain stores - grocery stores, malls, etc.,  Write to them.  Hold them responsible.  If you have a negative experience with a store or business because of not wearing a mask, do the same with them - write the manager or owner.

The point is this:  these people are not only harming us with their mandates, they are asking us to harm ourselves!  To harm our own children!  Are we going to permit this?  Every day we allow this it becomes more entrenched in our lives.  The more we acquiesce, the more we must expect them to shovel onto us.  At one time we all believed this was all a temporary inconvenience with an end date.  Now we know that it is not.  It is the expectation now that we will live this way forever.  Is this okay with you?  If so, go ahead, comply.  But it is wrong to make your child comply or to allow anyone else to.

We have an opportunity coming up very soon in North Dakota and perhaps also in Minnesota.  In North Dakota there is a bill in the Senate now to ban mask mandates.  This is an important start.  It just barely passed in the ND House.  We need to do better in the Senate.  WRITE TO THESE PEOPLE!    Be polite and constructive.  Offer sound reasons - there are plenty of them - to end these harmful mandates.  One good reason is enough, or two.  Just a paragraph.  If you get a negative response, remain polite and have another go at it.  Let them know you are not going away.  In Minnesota, the House of Representatives, on the other hand, is considering making mask mandates permanent law!  Obviously this needs to be addressed.  Write to the members of the Minnesota House (email me if you’d like email lists for these legislators).  Again - offer good reasons, stay polite and constructive, be willing to listen if they respond either way.  And thank them if they take the trouble to write.  Stay with it.  Don’t go away, don’t give up.

No one else is going to give us our lives back.  They are there for the taking.  We need to be the ones to step up and take necessary action.  Perhaps yesterday it was a virtue to be patient but today is the time for action.
