Students of American history will come across a particularly dark chapter during the Indian uprising of 1763. Colonists had been driven back behind the protective walls of Ft. Pitt. Coincidentally small pox was rampant amongst them. At this point, when some chiefs arrived to discuss some kind of terms – perhaps of surrender – the British presented them with gifts of blankets - from their small pox wards. The Indian population subsequently suffered a devastating epidemic of small pox to which they had no immunity. This act has gone down as a heinous part of American history (or, more accurately, British colonial history). [Some will say that it was not known how small pox was spread at that time; this may be technically true, but the British did know that it was spread by contact, even if they did not know exactly how it was done.  The commander directed that this be done – by means of blankets – In the effort to “extirpate this inexecrable race”; there is ample correspondence which explicitly describes this decision -  so believe what you will.]

This kind of thinking, however, was far from new or unique to the British. In fact, in the early Middle Ages, bowmen used toxins on their arrows. As late as 1710, the Russians used bodies of people who had died of the Plague, catapulting them over the walls of Tallin in Sweden. The Japanese used biological weapons on the Chinese. One effort involved dropping ceramic bombs filled with plague-carrying fleas.  These are acts of war.  Water supplies have been contaminated with typhus. Biological warfare is nothing new.

It’s also not receded into history. What do you call it when someone in power, with full knowledge of the effects and virulence of a disease, and knowledge of history and science enough to understand the effect of allowing that disease – no, encouraging that disease – to spread and become pandemic? In the “old days” this might have been considered an unethical act of war perpetrated on a mortal enemy in a desperate attempt to survive. What do you call that act when perpetrated against one’s own people? There really is no proper word or concept for this. This is really twisting the former act into something it cannot be. No one in power uses biological warfare against his own people. This is like “none dare call it treason”. If one uses biological warfare, whether as a chemist or virologist in a lab or the dictator of a country, he is using it against those he considers his enemies. We have accused Saddam Hussein and Bashar al Assad, among others, of turning these weapons on “their own” people, when, of course, these men did not regard the victims as “their own” people, but as their enemies. We, in America, found this repugnant.

Which brings us to 2014. Today we have a man holding the highest office in our land deliberately accelerating the spread of a disease, a terrible disease, against which we have no defense. Is this the act of the leader of our country, or, perhaps, is it the act of the enemy of our country? Obama (I cannot bring myself to call him “President”) is waging a full-out attack on the people of this country, men , women, children, Black, White, Native, Asian, Hispanic, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, Greenies, rich, poor, young, old, alike.

He knows that Ebola will kill millions of people if it gets a foothold on American soil and yet he is sending American soldiers into “hot zones” of this disease with little or no training to combat it, with every reasonable expectation that they will be devastated by it . . . and bring it home to America. He has refused to stop flights coming into America from the very epicenters of Ebola - the surest and easiest way to diminish the disease - apparently having taken the decision that if unfortunate people in Africa are dying of it, it is only right that the people of North America must die of it as well. Why?

The poppycock we’ve been told is that “we need to stop Ebola over there”. By spreading it over here, that is supposed to help. This of course makes absolutely no sense. Who will help Africans when we are overwhelmed here? If we were really serious about helping them, we’d be concentrating on making sure it does not spread beyond the first countries where it appeared. Haven’t we heard the idea of staying well so we could help the sick? Once this has been unleashed upon North America, whence help might have been forthcoming, who will help anyone?  Does this behavior bring to mind the Russians catapulting the plague-ridden corpses into their enemy’s cities?

We must assume it an act of war upon Americans is because he does not regard the people of this country as “his own” people. He is following the model of Saddam Hussein. We are his Kurds.  We must, therefore, regard Barack Obama as not our President but as our enemy, as surely as the leaders of ISIS are to be regarded as our enemy.  This disease alone could ravage our economy, not to mention morale.

Sometime soon, before Christmas, probably, the floodgates will be thrown open to ISIS and to any and every opportunistic virus or bacteria to invade. The invasion is already well underway. But we prefer to bury our heads in the sand. “It’ll be fine, “ we tell ourselves, even as the news reports should be enlightening us by virtue of cases of Ebola bursting upon us like popcorn in a popper – one, two, three-four-five . . . . . . . . . . . hundreds, thousands of kernels. Instead of dealing with vicious ISIS armies of terror, our soldiers are changing the linens in Ebola wards in Africa, at "ground zero" - with a full four hours of training

A virus doesn’t know or care about race. It will attack whoever comes in its path. That might be you or me, your family, your child, your parents, your siblings, your mate. It could be your best friend. The hideous monster that has been unleashed upon the American people, with full knowledge of its expected effects of devastation, could care less whether Thomas Duncan was Black, whether his nurse was White or Asian, or who its next victim will be.

And what kind of people sit around watching while someone (Obama) does this? We have a House of Representatives in Washington. They are empowered and charged with the responsibility to hold the President accountable and hold him to his oath of office. When he violates that oath – and they sit idly by – they, too, violate THEIR oaths of office. We have a Senate which has the power and responsibility to convict upon the evidence.

We have ample evidence here of a number of very serious high crimes. In addition to perjury (for which the rest of us would pay in prison sentences) we have blatant usurpation of the powers of Congress. We have irresponsible (or arguably deliberate) action which has placed our entire nation at peril.

This man has without any constraint of conscience not only allowed this to happen but has determined that it will happen. The 435 men and women in our Congress have been willing to sit on their hands and watch, as if they were spectators, as he has done this to America. They are as contemptible (with the rare exception of those who have spoken out against him) as he is. Perhaps even more so. Few of them have the excuse of insanity which he might well plead, or the background of illegitimacy in nationality which burdens Obama. He truly is a man without a country. But what of us? Why do we allow them to sit by?

Perhaps it is time to set aside the plans for Christmas holidays and presents and cards and concerts. Christmas may never come again. Instead of Democrats firing off vicious ads blaming Republicans for “cutting funding for NIH”, or Republicans savoring the likely fallout when the American people finally tumble to the treachery of Democrats in power, we should DEMAND that flights into this country be stopped. What good does it do to take temperatures? Thomas Duncan was asymptomatic when he arrived. Now he’s dead and his nurse is gravely ill. His temperature wouldn’t have given him away at the airport. But our “leaders” don’t care about logic or science. They don’t care about right or wrong any more. What is it they care about? Power? Money? The right connections? Donors? The Chamber of Commerce?  What?

We know that the President has promised us to fundamentally change America. He’s doing that right now. It’s no accident. It’s not ineptitude. It’s not lack of information or anyone’s failure to provide ever more money. It is treason. And Congress is allowing it without complaint and we are allowing Congress to allow it. To Republicans: Don’t answer petty garbage about “cutting funding”.  Demand answers to the big questions. To Democrats: Now is the time to abandon the treasonous leader of your party. Ebola won’t care about your party loyalty.

Obama is a terrorist.  He is perpetrating terror upon innocent Americans.  That they elected him and he is holding the office of President is beside the point.  Hitler, too, was elected Chancellor, with high hopes and flags flying.  It didn’t end so well.  There is no distinction between what this man is doing – every day, every hour – and what the Russian Tsars did.  Except that they did it to foreign “enemies”.  We are apparently enemies of this president, but we are not the foreigners.  He is.
