When peddling left-wing equality policy, there’s no selling point quite like claiming there are too many whiteys about. So when there aren’t, you simply dissemble. A case in point is the effort by Mayor Bill de Blasio to “diversify” NYC’s “Elite Eight” public high schools.

De Blasio and his schools chancellor, Richard Carranza, are unhappy there aren’t “enough” blacks and Hispanics at the elite schools, so they’d cooked up a scheme to eliminate the institutions’ admissions exams (which, ensuring that only the most capable students gain entrance, are the only reason the schools are elite in the first place).

 Do these people not see the evil they are promoting and the despair they are dispensing through these ridiculous programs? 

In a very real sense, America as we have known it is very much on the brink of disappearing. Progressives, Democrats, and assorted leftists maintain that America has never been a force for good in the world, they advocate “blame America first,” and they believe the United States is the focus of evil. They want to reshape America from the way it was originally founded.

Those who cannot – or will not – accept the outcome of the 2016 election still seek to overturn it. Two and one half years after the fact, the fight to overturn the election of Donald Trump continues. Never in the history of our nation has such vicious hatred underscored the illegitimate attempt to annul the results of a valid election.

It is too bad that the American experiment is ending in this way. If it was to end, though, this is the only way it could. By stupidity in the service of treachery.

Over the past year, there has been much talk about collusion. One danger when discussing the concept is confusing it with communication. And, communication between national leaders is essential. In this article, military and foreign policy fellow Dr. Earl Tilford highlights two examples when communication helped avoid a global disaster. He writes, “Secrecy in communications with world leaders is a necessary presidential imperative essential to preventing crises going catastrophic. Danger lurks throughout America.  We should heed warnings from those who actually know what they're talking about.  

We should, of course, protect ourselves when we are attacked. We should provide some help to our allies when they are invaded. We do not, however, need to defend every Saudi citizen regarded as a traitor by the Saudis, even if he does write newspaper articles from America. We do not need to beat our chests in outrage every time an adversary spies on us; we should instead just adopt some ruthless defenses against the spies. Above all, however, we should get over the idea that a government is an enemy just because it is nasty, or even just because it is undemocratic.

Making other countries conform to USA standards is not a function of the U.S. government.

Brexit, the move to withdraw the UK from the European Union, has left the nation divided. The UK is set to leave the EU on October 31, 2019. But will it happen? And should it happen? In this article, Dr. Mark Hendrickson looks at the pros and cons of Brexit for the people of the UK and writes, “all eyes are on the UK. It's nothing new, really.  It's been going on for roughly a century now, and it is probably happening now - has happened recently - in your hometown.  Trust me - it's not good.

A political platform is a formal set of principled goals which are supported by a party and its candidates. As a metaphor, the platform is composed of positions or viewpoints known as “planks” that address topics important to the party. The idea is to appeal to the general public.

The party’s national convention votes on the platform. In a sense, the platform becomes the party’s manifesto. Once adopted, the campaign begins in earnest.

Given the Democrats’ divergent field of presidential candidates, the party can use some platform suggestions. The following suggestions come from comments made by the twenty or so Democrat presidential candidates on the issues gleaned from debates and news interviews.

A pattern emerges in the Democrat platform and should be very obvious – control by the few over the many is best for America. In their view, the individual exists for the good of the state. The only question now is, “Will the many vote away their freedom in 2020?”

While the president's indignant defenders deny that he is even considering a social credit score to deprive us of our Constitutional rights, we need to recognise that he is.  There have been many red flags before this man was nominated to run for president - many of us who were calling attention to them during the 2016 campaign were shouted down in a frenzy by Trump's supporters, goaded by a not unreasonable fear of the spectre of a Hilary Clinton in the White House.  But that is why we needed someone better qualified.  This is the price we are paying for electing someone totally foreign to our history, our laws and the reasoning which underpins these laws and our Constitution.  What he blithely proposes to "end" gun violence is nothing more than direct violation of our most sacred rights as Americans.  It's not "fake news" - it is a glaring reality.  

Another First Amendment case.  What will it mean for our freedom to make movies and see them?  What might it portend in view of the candidacy of Pete Buttegieg?
