What happened instead was that the enemies of conservative principles began to infiltrate the party as "neo-conservatives," "big government conservatives," "pragmatic conservatives," and "compassionate conservatives." They have dragged the Republican Party so far to its left that people now have trouble distinguishing between the parties, just as they did during the Eisenhower years, when the Republicans threw away their 1952 victory.

The problem is that the politicians in Washington have not acted in good faith. Instead, they have committed a gigantic fraud by underfunding the program. The fact of the matter is that we’ve been swindled, and the anger and sense of pending betrayal that many seniors feel is understandable. At the same time, we, the people, need to accept some responsibility for this sorry state of affairs.

The numbers are staggering. It is difficult to identify any ideology or belief system in history that has killed more people, let alone in such a narrow period. It boggles the mind to imagine how one ideology could cause so much pain and suffering. The massive levels of death alone would justify Reagan’s charge that the Soviet Union was an Evil Empire, and that is before one even tries to comprehend (on the spiritual order) the vicious war on religion pursued by the USSR and its associated communist states. As to that, Soviet communists did indeed pursue, as Mikhail Gorbachev put it, a “war on religion.”

So back to our question: could an American be named to succeed Pope Benedict and assume the Chair of Peter? It's possible. If that should come to pass, however, it will be a signal to us all that the Catholic Church intends to impose worldwide the silence on critical moral issues that has prevailed in America since the days when Cardinal Dolan was in the seminary. Which is why I doubt that it will happen.

 Like Martel’s campaigns before them, the Crusades were defensive actions designed to stave off Muslim aggression. Oh, this isn’t what you learned in college, I know. It’s not what we hear from the media. It isn’t what’s portrayed by Hollywood. But it is the truth. And it was explained well by Thomas Madden, Chair of the History Department at Saint Louis University. In “The Real History of the Crusades” he wrote:

And like Obama, Chavez just as quickly jettisoned the words of hope when less-inspiring rhetoric better suited his intentions. Bush. Unlike Obama, who he spoke of in angelic terms, Chavez called George W. Bush a “devil.”

Virtually no serious armed force of consequence in the world today integrates women into infantry and armor units. This includes Israel, Russia, China and North Korea. They have done so for short periods in the past to compensate for a shortage of men. This was the exception, not the rule.

The battle in North Dakota’s university system has entered “The Theatre of the Absurd”.

It is becoming pretty clear that, while Ham Shirvani may not be the smoothest operator when it comes to navigating the internal politics of North Dakota’s higher education community, there is a concerted effort to make him the scapegoat.  

It’s become pretty clear to be that the best way to solve the problems in higher education is to unify both K-12 and Higher Education into a system of governance that creates direct representation of the public, as well as representation of the legislative and executive branches which approve the appropriations that fund such a unified system.

What if we just agreed that we have a revenue problem and tried to erase the deficit with new taxes alone? After crunching the numbers the question becomes, “What’s the point of all of this?” The first point is that there is, in fact, no feasible scenario wherein you can eliminate a $1 trillion-plus deficit with taxes alone…. So, if you’re not willing to reduce spending and you recognize that there’s no way to eliminate the deficit through tax increases alone, you are left in an endless loop that points inexorably to one conclusion: you don’t actually care one iota about the deficit, or the resulting debt, or the economic crash that is sure to result from this whole absurd mess.”

North Dakota winters, I am the publisher’s dog,  stories about cute little white dogs, driving habits of the legislators, greater MN was the gloomy one, the tests are racially biased, Shirvani continues to be a lightning rod, largest retail dealer of Case IH ag equipment in the world, Oh, no, Kmart dumped us,  almost as quickly she stole $22,000, a circular firing squad, concerned that the president and a significant portion of Congress  seem mistrustful of business, DAKTOIDS

Now perhaps you better understand why leftists’ behavior is often so sociopathic. And be afraid, be very afraid.

The Pentagon’s budget has become a political football. Congress and the president are treating it more like a bargaining chip in partisan deficit-reduction strategies rather than as their most solemn constitutional responsibility.

Even more amazing is the fact that more Republicans voted for this bill than Democrats.

Yet despite the fact that Job was not a Christian or a follower of the Mosaic religion, we still believe he is now with God in heaven. So the question naturally emerges: How did he get there? What was the mechanism of his salvation?

He wrote “For Americans Only” to show how far the principles of Jefferson had been abandoned. In his book he shows that increasing Federal control over every facet of American life in general, and business life in particular, is increasingly destructive to the nation.

If you follow each of these suggestions, you will have a one in a trillion chance of your child becoming a mass murderer… with the added benefit that your child will likely make very important contributions to society derived from their God-given special gifts.

At no time have Burke’s words been more firmly proven than by the present state of debt in the United States of America.

Furthermore, the practice of introducing legislation that is not intended to pass is a very dangerous practice since it could end up passing, even if by accident.

I’ve spent some entertaining moments observing birds from my kitchen window as they visit the array of feeders I’ve set for them. I’ve wondered if they also find me equally entertaining on the other side of the glass as I sip my coffee. Surely, they must.

No doubt, some women would make good riflemen or tank gunners, and the Armed Forces can make changes to adapt to women in those positions. This fact, however, is beside the point. The Armed Forces will have better infantry, artillery, armor, cavalry, ranger, and special forces units if they are not required to make adjustments contrary to nature.

You first must have principle to begin with. When you believe in Truth — either explicitly or just in the sense of operating under the assumption that there is a transcendent “right” — it will be your yardstick for behavior and decision-making. This is when the head can intervene and begin to compete with the seductive heart. It’s when you’re more likely to tell an errant friend, “Look, you know I like you, but what you did there was wrong.” What, though, if you’re a relativist and thus don’t believe in transcendent morality? What then will be that yardstick for behavior and decision-making?    There is only one thing left: emotion.

It was a very gracious gesture, and pure Truman. Truman saw a wrong by his fellow Democrat, FDR, and strived to correct it, regardless of his party loyalties.

All will seem sustainable, until it is not.

The bell will ring when some event shocks people into the recognition that: (a) the lack of real wealth creation accompanied by continuous, massive debt accumulation can never be reconciled; and (b) the political will does not exist—and may never exist—to call a halt to the debt accumulation and/or do what is necessary to enable an acceleration of real wealth creation

Until now, Americans had little or no reason to fear their government. That is no longer true.  Since 9/11, the growth of America's internal police force, the amount of surveillance of non-criminal citizens, the interception of our private electronic correspondence, and the invasion of our financial records are unprecedented. 

We Americans need to fear our own government and its demonstrated inability to reduce crime.

For liberal Democrats, conservative Republicans should never use their faith to disagree; only liberal Democrats enjoy such freedoms. I could give a thousand examples illustrating the point; I’ve written entire books doing so.
