SALLY MORRIS: LURCHING INTO CHAOS |
By now the whole world is up in arms at Biden's colossal failure in Afghanistan. Afghanistan was never a good idea - we can all thank W for that. But once we have become embroiled in something we cannot simply disappear without cleaning up the mess we made. There might not be many ways in which a background in real estate comes in handy in the White House, but during the Trump administration we saw some good examples of negotiating. The idea is that you arrive at your desired result in the best way possible with the fewest losses. That is the way the game is played. And if you are skilled at it you can make significant gains over time. You don't need to be in real estate to manage this - Reagan was intelligent enough to understand this intuitively. Our military and our people have been betrayed. There is no better word for it. And when a president sells his own nation out, what is that? Treason. Punishable by death.
