BRENT MCCARTHY: POMEROY SUPPORTS OUR MILITARY - OH, REALLY?

Earl Pomeroy claims to supports our veterans and military. Pomeroy’s willingness to redistribute wealth was never in question so let’s consider the rest of his record.

Presidential Candidate John Kerry slandered our troops in Vietnam by testifying that they raped, cut off ears, cut off heads and randomly shot civilians. He compared them to Genghis Khan. Pomeroy honored our Vietnam veterans by endorsing Kerry for president.

Presidential Candidate Barack Obama lied about our troops by stating that they were “just air-raiding villages and killing civilians”. Pomeroy honored our troops by endorsing Obama for president.

Pomeroy was silent as Senator John Murtha slandered our marines and as Senator Harry Reid declared “this war is lost”.

China’s military killed thousands of American soldiers in the Korean War. Pomeroy honors our Korean veterans by borrowing money from Communist China to fund his vote-buying social welfare programs like socialized medicine, making us beholden to China.

Our enemies use money from the oil that we buy to kill and wound our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pomeroy supports our troops by consistently voting against domestic drilling which requires us to buy that oil from our enemies.

Our soldiers died on the beaches of Normandy as well as in Europe, Korea and Vietnam trying to free people from the horrific shackles of National Socialism. Pomeroy honors these sacrifices by voting to shackle us with socialism including national healthcare.

Honoring our soldiers and veterans involves more than simply handing out someone else’s money or taking a taxpayer funded trip to pose for pictures with them. It includes speaking out against those who slander them and most importantly preserving the principles of freedom that they fought, bled, suffered and died for.  In Pomeroy’s case, it simply means going against his party.

Our soldiers, veterans, and their families deserve better.
