            Rules for thee – but not for me. So declare the elite before Trump broke up their party.

            What the left proclaims, pontificates, and bloviates about befits the standard they apply to others – but not themselves. Casual observation establishes that reality. Politicians pass laws for you and me – and exempt themselves. Hollywood insists on saving the planet while flying their jets and cruising their yachts. The high and mighty pronounce their #metoo movement while indulging their sexual proclivities. And so it goes.

            What are the tenants of left-wing morality? Look at a few examples.

            Moral narcissism. By virtue of “caring,” the liberal left positions itself above you and me. They are “good;” you are “bad.” They care.

            Compassion. As long as liberals say they care, compassion automatically devolves to them. No need to produce results. Just say they care. They are good people by virtue of good intentions unlike you and me. But, do actions speak louder than words? That’s – RACIST.

            Bullying. Not good. Bad. Don’t pick on others. Really? We teach kids in school no bullying, no fighting, no violence, embrace everyone, tolerance, respect. But, young adults in college are encouraged to bully! If an idea or opinion stands outside the narrow range of the politically correct or of the mandated speech code, violence against people and property suits academia just fine.

            Equality. Does this mean quality of outcome or equality of opportunity? They are not the same. True equality of opportunity establishes an even start point for all. The rest remains up to the individual’s choices and decisions. Equality of outcome means no one gets ahead by investing in their talents, capabilities, and hard work. No. “From each according to his ability; to each according to his needs.” Now, shut up, comrade! Get back to work!

            Environmentalism. Interpretation: “Save the planet!” Does anyone recall Rachel Carson and “Silent Spring?” Environmentalism started with her call to ban pesticides. Subsequently, over a hundred thousand Africans died of malaria when mosquitos ran loose. Then came the ozone hole. Then, acid rain. We’re still here and the threats are gone. Today, cries go out to ban fracking and fossil fuels. And to what end? To gratify the narcissism of an exempt elite while the rest of us cave to their pressure?

            Justice. William Penn of Pennsylvania fame made an observation. “Justice is the insurance we have on our lives and property. Obedience is the premium which we pay for it.” The liberal social justice warriors say, “Screw that! Guilty until proven innocent!” Of anything.

            Diversity. Beginning with academia, diversity exists as politicized scholarship fueled by intolerance. The diversity illusion prepares people to think of themselves as perpetual victims primed for grievance. Unhappy people are easy to manipulate. Just promise them a solution, any solution. But never deliver. Keep them on edge looking for the next promise.

            Self-esteem. Here we have a person’s subjective evaluation of their own worth. So far, so good. The liberal, however, takes the idea one step further. Self-esteem ensues when liberals instill ideas into another person to mold correct feelings. As in young women taught by feminists to detest men. Incorrect feelings might incur disciplinary action such as virtue shaming. Disagree with liberal lunacy and you get cancelled.

            The National Football League and other sports organizations now use their platform to push political agendas down the throats of an audience who merely wish to relax and be entertained. That’s all. The last thing they want to see are political statements and protests. Kneeling should be for prayer – not protest! Make no mistake. Black Lives Matter is not a civil rights organization. It is a leftist political operation intent on eliminating our historical memory and fundamentally re-establishing America as a socialist country. BLM? Bigots Love Marxism. Bend a knee to foolishness!

            In the end, one has to admire the way liberals hang together. The Democrat Party embraces “diversity” and “tolerance” as their hallmark. That said, would they ever allow a Never-Pelosi contingent in their “diverse” ranks? Harrumph!

            Our national election occurs in eight weeks and the choice of presidential candidates could not be starker. One candidate exemplifies the “rules for thee, but not for me” driver of the hard left. The other candidate comes under severe criticism for easing the rules and regulations on the common man. Trump’s supporters have never left him. If anything, the continuing assaults on his administration, himself, and his family have only hardened, if not expanded, his constituency. Defined by their sense of moral superiority, his opponents have tried everything under the sun to terminate his presidency. Yet, he is still present for duty – and may well be re-elected. This cold attempt illustrates the failed, inept looney-left leadership at the helm of Democrats, the media, and the Never-Trumpers. What better way to describe this cabal of sorry narcissistic leaders than as “ham-fisted” and “maladroit.”
