HERB MITTELSTEDT: THE EMERGING STRUGGLE

While pondering the direction our nation is heading, even researching the French Revolution, in which many heads rolled, I came across a book titled:  “EMERGING STRUGGLE FOR STATE SOVEREIGNTY.” Betsy Ross Press. 1969

Having been a federal employee for nearly 37 years, the books describes in detail a growing bureaucracy, which I experienced, observed, and participated in.  Hindsight is good, but unless it generates a constitutional foresight, the insight is wasted!

At any rate, my purpose is not to do a book review, (however a worthy project) but present the forward to the book.  It is as timely today as it was when published in 1969,  Changing a few terms, and word usage, the forward, could be printed in any paper today, but ignored by most, as I’m sure it was in 1969!!

The author is deceased, and the publisher no longer in existence. I have presented the forward word for word, giving credit, so enjoy.

Herb Mittelstedt

Emerging struggle

“If every person has the right to defend-even by force-his person, his liberty, and his property, then it follows that a group of men have the right to organize and support a common force to protect these rights constantly.”  THE LAW, BY Frederic Bastiat, Paris, 1850

America today is in a revolutionary posture.  Every discipline of law and order is under attack.  It is suicidal to ignore the obvious!

I believe as you believe, that the bearers of American society must now commit themselves to a defense of freedoms of person and property guaranteed to the people by the constitution of the United States, or be responsible for the destruction of the marvelous structures of this civilization in an orgy of subversion and rebellion.

Knowledgeable response to crisis if, of course, more difficult than protest.  But, protest alone will not defend our families, our property, and our lives.  A vital first requirement
for survival is identification of the men and the system directing the course of this nation to oblivion and her people to a soviet twilight zone.

Artful madmen have created economic chaos, shortages in food and fuel, confiscatory taxation, a breakdown in the educational system, the threat of war, and other diversions to fracture the society, isolate the individual, and condition Americans for the computerized, regulated culture of the new feudalism.

This nation can become a land of yesterday’s people!

The technique is as old as politics itself.  It is the Hegelian principle of bringing about change in a three-step process: Thesis, Antithesis, and Synthesis.

The first step, ‘“thesis” is to create a problem.  The second step, “antithesis” is to generate opposition to the problem (fear, panic, hysteria).  The third step, “synthesis,” is to offer a solution to the problem created in step one…change which would have been impossible to impose on the people without the psychological conditioning achieved by steps one and two.

The objective of the current economic, social and political convulsion is the establishment of regional governance throughout the land, “Regionalism” seeks to dissolve county governments, transfer state powers to a central authority in Washington, administer the affairs of the U.S. Citizens through a network of appointed planners and
programmers in federal regions and state sub-divisions, seize control of the land and production facilities, change the form of government, reduce Americans to the status of economic serfs on the land which once was theirs, and erect dictatorship of the financial “elite” upon the ruins of the republic.

Fearful citizens, neutralized by sophisticated propaganda and terrorized by coercive domestic policy, lack information to understand current events of local, state and national importance.  Because of ignorance we are an endangered species.

Younger Americans, though troubled by the effects of federal socialism, have little experience in political relationships before the illegal transfer of legislative powers from the Congress to the Executive branch. (The one remaining power of Congress is the power to tax.)  Subsequent executive order, voiding freedoms of person and property, remain unchallenged.  In many instances ultra vires acts by federal agents are welcomes as innovative improvements.

The penalty for constitutional ignorance is a police state society!

If this nation is to return to politically sane mature citizens, oriented toward the ethical values inherited from their ancestors, (we)must become teachers and counselors in a campaign to revive responsible citizenship.

Only one course of action offers hope for the descendants of the pioneers, engineers and warriors who created this unique American civilization.  Restoring and then preserving and defending the basic principles originally embodied in the Constitution of the United States is the one option that offers ground for confidence in tomorrow.

After providing for the needs of one’s family, no other investment of one’s time and money makes sense.  Unless the retrogression of western civilization can be halted and then reversed, in the United States at least, all ordinary investment for the future of one’s descendants will be wasted.

Retarding and then reversing the decline of a civilization is a problem of enormous complexity.  To describe aspects of it would require a large book, perhaps several volumes.  Nevertheless, the corrective process can be initiated without understanding all aspects of the entire problem.

Political theorizing and attempts to grapple with the convoluted problems of the world is useless.  The solution to national crisis is local and personal.

In the present climate of emergency it appears that the greatest stumbling block to the reception and acceptance of the necessary data for survival, and the conclusions which musts be reached by the individual, is the feeling of “unreality” which the truth holds for the very people who seek it.

The impending disaster is permitted its fantastic rate of growth through no other factor as much as through incredulity masked as apathy.  The inaction of the people is as powerful as a propellant to nihilistic doctrine as is the action of its perpetrators.

In looking back over the recent past it is not difficult to spot the results of successful manipulation of our emotions by the mattoid elite.  The current phase of their method is an appeal to the intellect, presenting the case for federal regionalism and one-world government as the logical, rational and even the desired end.

To survive as a race and a nation the “muzzled majority” must become expert in the techniques of persuasion one to one basis.  First, an intense appeal to the emotions, and then, reinforcement through the intellect.

The purpose of this book is to define the origins of the constitutional crisis, to reveal how these violations impact with disastrous results on the individual citizen, and to explain how men and women can translate anger and frustration into practical operations to restore control of government to the people where it properly belongs.  The people are the government!

We deal, not with untried political theory, but with enduring principle applied by conscientious men and women in a plan of action which achieved desired results.

Objective of the action is state legislative remedy to correct usurpation of constitutional powers by federal and regional revolutionaries.

Authority for action is Principal versus Agent:  Actions of an Agent are not binding upon the Principal unless those actions are authorized by the Principal.

Federal agents are attempting to violate the prohibitions of the constitutional contract by exceeding the powers delegated to them by the people, as defined in authorities enumerated in constitution.

The people and the states are burdened by these illegal acts because the State as Principal in the constitutional contract, has failed to challenge violations of that contract.

THE EMERGING STRUGGLE FOR STATE SOVERINGTY reflects a situation report on actions by the people and elected officials to reverse the mindless march toward dictatorship.

It is a beginning!
