RUBEN LACKMAN: ORWELL AND MODERN ANIMAL FARMING

“The Healthcare Black and Blues” by the “OBOMACATS” featuring their lead singing duo—Nanci Peelosi and Hairy Reed, accompanied by the Dancing Congressional Capons, in the 2010 Washington D.C. Congressional Follies.
I sent this following letter to the Bismarck tribune, March 25,  2010, prior to the Congressional vote on the Healthcare Bill vote.  It was not published,, so I’ll use it the April Dakota Beacon, and fine-tune it with later remarks from our three micro- echoes of the obama teleprompter. And I do hope I “make no mistakes” and that I can “make myself clear.”

Dear Sir:

Having read AARP ads promoting the Obama Heath Bill, and the “form” letters thanking Rep. Earl Pomeroy for his support of that bill, I feel moved to respond.  First, I ask my former students in Mandan High School, Regent High School, Goodrich High School, and elsewhere, to remember “critical thinking,” which has, as its only goal, truth.  Those students who learned the “truth” of “share the wealth” which George Orwell demonstrated in Animal Farm when I “equalized their grades” will remember that no passing student ever voted for the system, and no failing student ever voted against it.  The honor students could not get the administration to fire me, BECAUSE I was the only teacher in the entire system with NO FAILING students!  You ex-students out there, don’t forget how you felt when I took your hard-earned grades, and shared them with someone “more needy,” in MY judgement, but in yours, who had earned failure!.

For those AARP people who still read their Bible, please note that when Christ was being condemned by the Hebrew lawyers and priests, even they, in that day, were afraid to destroy “the Truth” because they “feared the people.”  Have “the people” changed? NO!  The “power’ of “WE” the people, is still our hope to day!  For those in AARP, I’ll adjust the truths of Animal Farm to your situation, since you are no longer graded, but you are still governed by what you tolerate.

First, read Animal Farm.  It had seven commandments, the seventh was “All animals are equal.”  But later, all seven were condensed into One: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”  By the way, Orwell said “more equal, not more wealthy.”  Why?  Your vote is equal to Obama’s, but do you really believe that he thinks you’re “equal” to him?
In Animal House, Napoleon the pig had his nine guard dogs; he was “Commander-in-chief.”  He governed.  Governments spend wealth.  They do not create it. Consumers consume by spending.  Boxer, the horse, produced the most, worked the hardest, was the “Producer.”  So, like you AARP people, he finally wore out, couldn’t produce anymore.  He got sick and Clover, another horse, gave him two doses of “pink medicine” a day, and talked to him.  Boxer looked forward to his promised retirement, which, as Moses, the raven said, lay “up there, Comrades, just on the other side of that dark cloud that you can see—there it lies,

Sugarcandy Mountain, that happy country where we poor animals shall rest forever from our labors.”  Boxer looked “forward to the peaceful days that he would spend in the corner of the big pasture.  It would be the first time that he had leisure to study and improve his mind.”  Do you expect AARP to “study” and “improve” YOUR mind?  No! That’s YOUR job.  But Boxer got weaker and less productive, so finally the van came to take him the his “retirement in Sugarcandy Mountain Nursing Home. All the animals, when they saw the van, crowded around it, happily saying, Goodbye, Boxer!

But then, Benjamin the donkey, who could read, cried, “You fools, do you not see what is written on the side of that van?  Then, “in the midst of a deadly silence he read: ‘Alfred Simmonds, Horse Slaughterer and Glue Boiler, Willingdon.  Dealer in Hides and Bonemeal.  Kennels provided.’  Do you not understand what that means?  They are taking Boxer to the knacker’s!!’’’  Boxer got into that van BECAUSE he could not read.

What’s your excuse?  What is America’s excuse?  After the 2010 elections, millions of voters will see what was actually written on the inside of the Obama Health Care Van.  George Orwell made the first attempt to use “windpower” as an energy source.  The project created a lot of jobs, both in building and dismantling, but not it did not produce one mega-watt of power.  The whole farm was divided on the subject of the windmill. Why do we have so much division over things like “Global Warming, Greenhouse Effect, Nuclear Winter, Cap and Trade?”  DIVIDE AND CONQUER!  Crank up fear in the people, and you have a totalitarian’s opportunity to control the “we” through fear of the unknown.  You in AARP have what Boxer did not have: “leisure and time to study and improve your mind.”  You MUST learn what they don’t want you to know.  Learn the truth before election time 2010, and vote for freedom from government.  By the way, I’m AARP age!!

The April 6, 2010 Bis/Trib captioned the article on the Healthcare vote “Health care reform: a step in the right direction.”  It would have been far more truthful to have said: “Heath care reform: a step in the left direction.”  Our representative and senators, their eyes weeping, their hearts crying over the “enormous pressure” of the present  “inadequate, unfair, unaffordable, broken,” ND healthcare, then say in the article: “First, the new bill does not radically change anything.” Really?  Why was it so necessary then? Are they actually that far from the reality of the effects of that bill? Can Earl, former Insurance Commissioner really believe that insurance, an actuarial based business, controlled by mathematically proven risk formulae, can actually disregard risk factors and cover any and all pre-existing conditions, and still “lower premiums?”  Why not, then, wait until after death to buy life insurance?  To Life Insurance, death is merely a “pre-existing” condition.  Why not cover that, too!  Why deny that to a poor hard-working tax-payer, at the precise time that he, AND MAKE NO MISTAKE, knows, without doubt, that he needs it.  OR at least let his/her heirs buy enough insurance to pay off the debt on the house, business, or farm, or for politicians, their unpaid taxes, living expenses for their mistresses, and child support for their “extended families?”

Once again, I will say, clearly, that all Senators are United States Senators, unlike Representatives, who represent their respective states: that’s why representatives are allotted by population and districts.  That’s why ND has one, and California has more than 25.  But each state has the same number of Senators: two (2) UNITED STATES SENATORS.  The reason for that is THEY are to preserve the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS.  Our three “public servants” havedemonstrated far beyond a reasonable doubt, that they can no longer be trusted to do the will of the people of North Dakota.  They should no longer be sent to Washington to do the will of other powers that do not have “we, the people”; “the United States of America,” or the Republic for which it stands,” in their “vision.”

We should not return them to Washington when it is obvious that they have contacted “Obamavision” which has destroyed their ability to see either truth or their North Dakota constituents, and destroyed their in integrity. Sen. Byron Dorgan, bless his heart, has already read and understood the handwriting on the walls of the 2010 voting booths, and has graciously retreated from the battle, saving his war-chest, and looks forward to competing with Lord Byron in the field of philosophy and literature.

Remember: the vision of the Founders in 1776 is the law of the land, not the ACORN vision of 2008, of an unknown birthplace.  The founders signed and “pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.”  Let’s send only dedicated American men and women to Washington this fall, not spoiled children, whiners, turn-coats, spineless jellyfish, leeches, parasites.  Let’s send people like the blacksmith in Longfellow’s The Village Blacksmith, of whom it was written, “He looked the whole world in the face, for he owed NOT ANY MAN.”

Let’s send men and women with honor, with integrity, with backbone, with love for ND, for the United States, for this Republic, and then hold them accountable. Just in closing I wish to quote Lord Byron Dorgan’s answer to the question in the City Magazine; “ What’s still good about this country?” Byron said “Freedom and opportunity.”  He should have stopped there.  When he voted for a healthcare bill that forces an American to buy an insurance policy that he does not want or pay a fine, freedom is no longer an option.

His use of “immigrant quotas” to illustrate their desire to “become a part of this great experiment of our” is 100 years behind times.  If they want to become a part of the opportunity, why are they illegals?  What part do they want?  And who is the “WE”, he’s talking about when he says, “WE often forget that.”  If Byron would just learn a little serious history, he would know that when the Berlin Wall fell, and the millions crossed from East Germany to West Germany, that not one East German, when asked why he was fleeing East Germany, said he wanted “Democracy.”—They ALL said that their only objective was FREEDOM!!  “Opportunity” is redundant when used with “FREEDOM”  “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are “self-evident Creator-endowed truths and gifts.” The pursuit of happiness is opportunity in action, without government interference.  That’s what the OBAMAVISION as seen and heard through the Cosmic teleprompter is really saying? Come on, Byron, you know better that that? But then, Byron quoted his father saying about working. “Sweep it again now—I want you to look busy”. There is a tremendous difference between “looking” busy, and “being” busy!!  The state of the floor is the proof of work, not the adulation of the audience.
