The year 2020 has been a weird one in more ways than one.  We’ve had the 180 degree about-face by the press first over how or whether to respond to the threat of COVID 19, who or whether to blame anyone for it, whose policies have been failures, whose have been successes (which really shouldn’t need a debate - just look at results - hint, look at Sweden) and whether it’s a great idea to shut down our national economy 100% so everyone can hide under his bed for a year.  Then we have “protests” which totally ignore the mask mandates, but that’s ok because they aren’t Trump rallies.  Then the riots come along, as night follows day with these “protests” and guess what?  They’re “mostly peaceful”!  Even though they leave the cities in charred ruins and with little hope of recovery.  

We have finally found the key to “peace in the Middle East”!  And guess what!  That is being either ignored, ridiculed or denigrated because it would appear to be the result of the leadership of Donald Trump.  Bush didn’t do it.  He went to war.  Obama ended up with Benghazi.  Not great foreign policy geniuses.  But along comes Trump, the bull in the china shop, and violà!  Peace in the Middle East.  And Peace in Kosovo.  And a couple of nominations for Nobel Peace Prizes in recognition.  It is making the press insane.  

But weirder than all of this is that Twitter has suspended someone’s retweet of footage of Democrat presidential candidate, Joe Biden fondling the young daughter of a congressman at his swearing-in.  In one fell swoop, Twitter both agreed with the account holder that Biden’s behavior amounted to sexual predation and at the same time denied the right to say so.  So they are protecting Biden and running interference for him even as they admit that his behavior is indecent and does not fit their “community guidelines”!  They accuse even as they shield Biden. This is a new low, even for Twitter.  It tells us a great deal about Biden and a great deal more about our social media platforms in general and Twitter in particular.  There isn’t much more to say about this one.  Putting this together with the account provided by Tara Reade as to his strange and obnoxious behavior, one can empathize with the little girls, but to use his very behavior as an excuse to cover it up is one too many for me.  But it is weird enough for 2020 - Weird Old Uncle Joe gets a free pass with the kiddos - again.  Because he’s a Big Deal and we should all defer to his egregious behavior once again.  Pathetic.  What more do we need to know?
