After years of outstanding free economic education of the public on KFYR radio Eugene Graner was summarily dismissed after a succinct explanation of how the ignorance of markets drives the policy of elected officials to the detriment of North Dakota citizens. Rejoice N.D. friends…..he is back beginning Monday, September 21!

We’ve got the windmills and more are coming.  Add a few large clown heads to the mix and we can have the hunting experience equivalent of a round of miniature golf.

The loss of money due to the lack of interest in hunting North Dakota’s pinwheel prairies could be made up by copyrighting and marketing a “Hunting the Wind Farms of North Dakota” video game.

We are, President Obama informs us, in need of health care reform.  Congress may be deadlocked on the issue.  Obama seems to speak as if congressional inaction on improving healthcare means no federal action on improving healthcare.  He needs to read the Constitution and, even more, he needs to review all the powers which Congress and federal courts have given to the Presidency.  President Obama could take action to improve our nation’s healthcare system right now.

But that assumes that President Obama actually wants to improve healthcare in America.  In fact, all the countless speeches, all the vastly complex congressional bills, all the relentless insistence that America is in crisis, are all intended to accomplish just one thing:  Obama was to gain giant chunks of power and authority for the federal government at the expenses of individual Americans.  It is not a reform of our healthcare he seeks; it is a reform of the balance between personal liberty and government control. 

Likewise, Obama didn’t “join” himself to the liberal leadership; he the liberal leadership. The Administration didn’t fall in with the wrong crowd; they are the wrong crowd. Van Jones, Yosi Sergant and Acorn are where Barack Obama’s chosen to live all his adult life.

“We’ve got to do something!” is the mantra of those in our labor unions and government who are desperately trying to get the federal government’s foot wedged in the door to our right to our own health care and insurance decisions, our privacy and, of course, further into our finances.  There’s room for disagreement with the premise that there’s something wrong with our overall health care system - and even more with the idea that it’s any of the federal government’s business.

The left is morally relativistic at its core, meaning, its members generally don’t believe in Absolute Moral Truth.  Because of this, there is nothing to govern their agenda except for their own desires, their own feelings.  That is to say, a person who understands that we are meant to govern ourselves with that eternal, unchanging moral yardstick called Truth realizes that the end does not justify the means.  Sure, he isn’t perfect, but he understands that he cannot just “follow his heart,” that his emotions aren’t the arbiters of reality.  This is why Saul “the Red” Alinsky instructed his followers to force their adversaries (that means traditionalists) to live up to their own principles.  You see, he understood that we actually have some.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009, Senators Dorgan and Conrad voted for the Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Nomination of Cass R. Sunstein, to be Administrator of the Office of Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget. Sunstein has a documented record of anti-gun, anti-hunting, animal rights, private property rights legal extremism! 

The U. S. Geological Survey issued a report in April (‘08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big…  It was a revised report (hadn’t been updated since ‘95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ;  western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana ....up to 500 billion barrels. Enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years. All of this abundant, cheap energy but America chases fairy dust….wind, biofuel, solar? What is wrong with this? The religion of Environmentalism!

The mainstream media has done it’s best to ignore the latest Obama Administration scandal. Van Jones was the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s Special Advisor for Green Jobs. He was to have been the man in charge of the distribution of $30 BILLION of your dollars. He was fired early Sunday morning (before the Sunday morning political talk shows could prepare?). The truth is that Glenn Beck outed Van Jones who has been an avowed COMMUNIST! We almost had a man overseeing a huge amount of taxpayer money who likely could not even have obtain a rudimentary security clearance to work for a U.S. Defense Department contractor! Have you ever heard the term, “The nuts are running the asylum”? Here is the proof!

Politics and policy will always nip at our heals, but other things are more enduring -- and endearing. For example, the peaceful observation of the birds spells a welcome respite to the acrimony around us. The birds are hearty, resilient and not bothered by the “sophistication” of the world that too often plagues mankind. Theirs, however, is the simple life albeit a struggle for survival.

Altogether now! Let us chant for mankind and use our pens to write, “O beloved Obama, our courageous president, we are all servants defending the hope for you and marching to change.”

Any self-respecting schoolkid, enjoined by his principal to be a “servant” to the head of state, would reply, “Get lost, creep.” And, if they still taught history in American schools, he’d add, “Oh, and by the way, that question was settled in 1776.”

Candidate Obama over, and over promised that health care reform would be the most transparent process ever. He has operated just the opposite. You MUST watch this video.

While pondering the direction our nation is heading, even researching the French Revolution, in which many heads rolled, I came across a book titled:  “EMERGING STRUGGLE FOR STATE SOVEREIGNTY.” Betsy Ross Press. 1969

Having been a federal employee for nearly 37 years, the books describes in detail a growing bureaucracy, which I experienced, observed, and participated in.  Hindsight is good, but unless it generates a constitutional foresight, the insight is wasted!

It is likely that the whole event was a staged and paid for SEIU union manipulated event!

Check out the signage of two respective events. Images of the “Health Care Now”, NDPeople rally show signs of obvious quality and uniformity. It seems as if the supporters of health care reform arrived and someone handed the signs out to everyone. ALL the signs are manufactured and professional

I have a possible new name for the union financed, everything-provided rent-a-mob astroturfers who claim to speak for “ordinary people”, perhaps, based on the facts we might refer to them as NDSheeple?

Any time is a good time to read Robert Service. I found my time while recuperating. Some claim that he was the most widely read balladeer of his day. It would be unfortunate if today’s generation missed knowing the poems of Robert Service. For those already familiar with his light verse, September is as good a time as any to say “Thank you, Mr. Service, for gracing our days with your poetry.”

Republicans need to come out with a short, clear, reasonable, post card size plan right now.  Make sure everyone in America knows what it is.  Ask the American people to demand that Congress pass the Republican Health Care Reform and not some nebulous, mammoth, back-door-deal Chicago mafia health care plan.  Democrats, now, stand for nothing popular at all.  Once Republicans clearly stand for something sensible and easy to grasp, the political battlefield changes dramatically.
